Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) has finally been ruled constitutional by the Supreme Court

Republicans are now drowning in their own tears. Some of them are now threatening to move to Canada, even though universal healthcare has been part of their system for a long time now, same with the support of gay marriage and other things Republicans actively hate and despise. Other GOP members are thinking about having an "armed rebellion" to overturn the Supreme Court decision. The latter is quite frightening, though not surprising, that these people would resort to violence to actively oppose something so harmless and peaceful and humane as universal healthcare.

Needless to say, not even the tiniest violin is playing for these idiots who lack human decency and compassion.

In any event, I am very happy with this news. It's not a perfect system, but at least it's a step in the right direction. It's something that has been needed for a long time, and it's just sad that it took this long for people to officially say that healthcare insurance is a constitutional right.

Totally juming in, but yeah... they'd best stay away from the west coast if they're looking for like-minded people... just because we have a Conservative majority in Parliament right now doesn't mean we're what the Republicans seem to consider a good conservative (I can only base this on what I see on US TV from here) across the board. There is a a totally legit political party in BC who's sole goal is the legalisation of Marijuana. It doesn't have any seats in the legislator at the moment, but yeah... it's an official party.

And just to not comment twice? The Canadian system is far from perfect, I fully admit this. That being said.... when I need to go to the doctor, I always do. I don't have to worry it's going to bankrupt me if I end up in the hospital (and thank GOD for that after the Breaking Dawn induced seizure ended in the movie theatre calling 911 and me being forced to go to the hospital by the paramedics). I'm sure Obamacare has its flaws, but to me it means that I'll worry a little less about my American friends not getting the care they need to when something is seriously wrong because they don't have insurance... and for that I say YAY.

It's sad that it's taken us this long tbh, and there's still going to be fighting over it, especially from the GOP for sure, which is beyond ridiculous (like, why are you trying to deny people the right to be insured for medical help? Are you people that heartless?) But I'm happy that we're finally making progression in the right direction.

Ahaha, noooo, stay out of my country, Republican crazies, I don't want you here. XD

... In all seriousness, though - yay, Obama! Yay, Supreme Court! Yay, United States! And the people who are threatening to move to Canada - where, yes, we already have universal health care and same-sex marriage - really do make me want to facepalm forever. Oi.

You should hear what they are saying about the ruling in general.

"THIS IS SLAVERY! WE'LL HAVE NO MORE FREEDOM! AMERICA IS TURNING INTO A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY NOW THANKS TO OBAMA!"

lol, yeah. Conservatives are all kinds of craycray. Them threatening to move to Canada without realizing that Canada is actually more liberal than America currently is was all kinds of stupid, but the stupidity just keeps on coming from them.

Tell me about it. Romney is already running on a 'I'll repeal Obamacare' platform. What is wrong with those people!?

They're heartless morons.

I mean, these are people who gleefully cheer the idea of allowing old people with medical conditions die because they are uninsured. These are people who actively seek out to take away basic human rights from other people, and yet have the audacity to say that healthcare is taking away their freedoms as Americans. The irony and stupidity of conservatives/the GOP is astonishing.

You don't have to tell me D:

'I mean, these are people who gleefully cheer the idea of allowing old people with medical conditions die because they are uninsured'
Now that's just scary, those heartless bastards.
