Date: 2012-03-28 11:43 pm (UTC)01. Out of all the seasons, I believe the fourth season and fifth seasons are the best at demonstrating how essentially perfect the Dean/Castiel relationship was. It was constructed so beautifully in season four, starting off as a hesitant partnership between human and angel to slowly building up to a friendship and them trusting each other, and then it progressed into something much, much more. Season five might not have been perfect in the end, but at least it still had the Dean and Cas friendship going, something the latter seasons have failed to acknowledge or keep straight. I feel that S4 and S5 best demonstrate why they have such a profound bond, why they need each other and why they complete each other on so many levels.
02. From S6 onwards, it's been more one-sided than anything else. It breaks my heart. ;__;
03. I have no sympathy for Dean anymore, all of it went out the window when he (along with Sam and Bobby) persecuted Castiel for doing something they themselves have done many times before in moments of desperation. And all Castiel was doing was protecting them. Dean just needs to grow the fuck up and apologize to Castiel, and ask for his forgiveness. Castiel has done more than enough to prove himself to them, now it's his turn. He needs to beg, grovel, plead for Castiel's forgiveness of him acting like a hypocritical asshole. The way he treated Castiel -- someone he considered a friend, family -- is hugely despicable and I just loathe Dean so much for that.
04. Right now, this relationship is fucking hurting my heart. I prefer reading AUs just to make me feel better about them, tbqh.
