I want to thank [livejournal.com profile] squishyball for directing me to these spoilers the other day, although I can't say they did good for my fangirl heart. So if you're like me, you'll compose yourself before reading those first and then join me for some capslocking and general talk about them.

The heartbreak really begins with “The Man Who Would Be King,” the first episode being directed by fan-fave writer Ben Edlund. “It’s the story of Castiel looking over his life, and then it turns into Castiel looking into his relationships,” he says. “If it does it’s job, it’ll break your heart.”

WHUT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO ME SHOW? SRSLY.
;________________;

I mean seriously, how much more does Castiel have to suffer on this show? I mean granted Supernatural always carries the angst ad nauseum and I do like angst when it's appropriate, but this season he's been carrying an entire burden and weight on his shoulders and not even Dean or Sam bother on even trying to help him with, or find the courtesy of asking earlier on about his war or empathize with what he has been doing when he isn't constantly with them 24/7 (LOOKING AT YOU DEAN, BEING AN INSENSITIVE JERKOFF TO YOUR BOYFRIEND >:|) I honestly believe that Castiel has been wearing thin for a long while now, just barely hanging on and whatever is happening he has to make tough decisions based on these relationships of his. Either his relationship with the Winchesters or with Balthazar and the rest of his brothers, what is right and what he must do, and obviously this episode will be an overview of how his entire existence has been shifted and changed due to these relationships, but it makes me wonder what this heartbreak will be and what causes it, either what decision/choices he makes or something is done to him, idk. It makes me fear the worst, tbh. It's gonna break me and with the other previous spoilers regarding Castiel for the duration of the season...especially with the finale, I just, I don't know what to think right now.

CAN'T THEY ALL JUST FUCKING HUG IT OUT AND BE FRIENDS AGAIN? AND DEAN WILL APOLOGIZE TO HIS ANGEL BF AND THEY CAN GET BACK TO THEIR ~PROFOUND BONDING~ AND ALL THAT JAZZ? CAN'T WE HAVE HAPPY-SLIGHTLY-CONFUSED-ABOUT-HUMANITY CAS BACK PLZ? WHY MUST HE BE SUFFERING RIGHT NOW, LOOKING TIRED AND EXHAUSTED AND SO WORN OUT READY TO DO WHATEVER IN DEFEAT? I JUST, I CANT. MY POOR BB. ;___;

FOR SOME REASON, I PERSONALLY THINK SOMEONE IN CASTIEL'S LITTLE ANGELICAL RECRUITED GROUP WILL BETRAY HIM, ESP BASED ON THE OTHER SPOILERS THAT HE DOESN'T KNOW WHO TO TRUST, AKA THE "RELUCTANT ALLY" BIT. D: D: D: D:

EDLUND, YOU GENIUS MASTERMIND. YOU BRING THE BRILLIANCE TO EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO. ILU BUT DAMN, YOU WILL BRING THE CREYS IN THIS ONE. ;____;

Ahem, I'm late but anyway.

I'm sad because one; they've really misused his character this season. He shows up 5 times maybe for like 5 or 10 minutes (at best) and then disappears. The heavenly civil war is just like a vague plot device to keep him away. It's worse than the off screen search for god last season. At least we got snippets of what he was doing then, they've given us nothing this season. Ugh, I feel like this would have been a better overall season arc for like Season 7. That was one of my main complaints about this season. WWAAAaYY too much going on. No real singular plot development and therefore, interesting stories not getting the quality attention they deserve.

Like why is Dean being a jerk to Cas this season? People try to justify it like "well he's having a hard time, Sam was soulless blah blah" but from the moment Cas showed up in 6.03 they just treated him like utter crap and continued to yell at him and berate him every time he showed up there after DESPITE the fact he's only showing up to help them. Even when he didn't have any way to help, he still tried. Then they say it's Cas who's just not talking. But I can remember at least 2 or 3 different time he tried to bring up his issues and talk and they cut him off with their whining. So that's just not true. They NEVER inquire about how he is, never asks how the war is going (it's only the whole world that's at stake, no biggie). Hmm, maybe he's taking so long to answer your whiny prayers because he's DEAD? They don't even care.

And now this chick who was supposed to be his ally (she was doomed from the start. Females on SPN are doomed to be evil or sluts) is probably gonna betray him. I have a feeling at the end she's gonna be a double agent or something.

I also feel like he's gonna try something to combine their efforts to get rid of Mother and Raph and it's gonna blow up in his face somehow.

I'm wondering how 6.20 is gonna portray his life. I'm just so sad that he feels so alone and like no one cares. And I wish I could say different, but really, does any one care? :( They sure don't act like it. He's so alone in the world. I just feel so bad for him. First they show him 5 mins per ep then he finally gets some screen time and now they torture him some more :(

If he doesn't get a hug this season I will burn someone at the CW on a ceiling.

Sorry that was long. I have a lot of feelings lol

Amen sister. I wanted to punch Dean in the face in 6.15 when he was all "You haven't told us anything! GRR!" Seriously? Seriously!? He probably got tired of trying! Can you blame him!

Cas: "Well the world's at stake, sorry :( I'm just trying to save your planet. Since ya know, you guys are my friends and taught me to care for humanity even though most of my kind couldn't care less and I'm practically in this alone :(

Boys: Ugh, we have issues here, shut your whining! Sam has no soul! Priorities!

Cas try 2: The world is at stake! I have to go!

Boys: Dude, I can't believe how selfish you are leaving us at a time like this. Shame!

Cas try 3: I didn't wanna do this but...the world is at stake!

Boys: So! Why didn't you tell us that!? Sheesh! You never talk to us about these things!

His character has been severely underused this season, I agree. It's like they're treating him as though he's more of a recurring character than the series regular that he is. Which is unfair considering how much richness there is to his character arc, and many other storyline arcs that could have had the screentime as well, as opposed to the majority of what nonsense was filled this season.

but from the moment Cas showed up in 6.03 they just treated him like utter crap and continued to yell at him and berate him every time he showed up there after DESPITE the fact he's only showing up to help them. Even when he didn't have any way to help, he still tried. Then they say it's Cas who's just not talking. But I can remember at least 2 or 3 different time he tried to bring up his issues and talk and they cut him off with their whining.

THIS. ALL OF THIS. EXACTLY.

Castiel has attempted to explain himself on multiple occasions, however for the Winchesters nobody elses issues matter but their own. Dean in particular who ends up bitching at Castiel for not appearing whenever he calls him, and you're definitely right on the money about them never ever inquiring about what Castiel has been up to, what is happening, etc. It's always about their needs only. It's interesting because they have addressed it within the show about how Dean and Sam take other people helping them for granted (Bobby telling them this in "Weekend At Bobby's" and then it's revised in a subtle manner when Castiel says, "Of course, your problems always come first." So you'd think that the show was making a statement about acknowledging that the Winchester are self-absorbed in their own issues without taking into consideration others around them, but they haven't dealt with it at all. Hence why I'm partial to Castiel more than I am the Winchesters right now because it's the same old bullshit with them. Castiel is dealing with something much heavier on his shoulders and I feel more sorry for him at the moment. ;__; If I could hug him right now, I totally would. Many, many times.

I also feel like he's gonna try something to combine their efforts to get rid of Mother and Raph and it's gonna blow up in his face somehow.

That's the vibe I'm getting, as well. He's in deep desperation and probably will take desperate measures to ensure that he wins this war, which will definitely backfire or have severe consequences on his end. That's my main fear. AND ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED HAD DEAN WINCHESTER HAD HIS SASSY GAY BOYFRIEND AROUND TO STOP HIM FROM BEING AN ASSHOLE AND START HELPING OUT HIS ANGEL BOYFRIEND, JSYK.

I'm also wondering how this Castiel-centric episode will turn out to be, since it's kind of difficult to show the entire existence of angels, especially since they haven't roamed the Earth in over two thousand years. Perhaps we'll get more information than flashbacks. But ITA, Castiel seems to always be alone, and it breaks my heart and judging from description of the episode itself it'll continue to shatter my heart. ;___;

DON'T FEEL SORRY BB, I HAS FEELINGS ABOUT THIS TOO.
