Over the last several days I have discovered quite a few interesting things.

Learning that Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn from The Tudors) and Tabrett Bethell (Cara from Legend of the Seeker) have been cast in ABC's Poe, which is basically a detective story about Edgar Allen Poe taking place in 1800s Boston. That Kristen Kreuk will be part of Ron Moore's 17th Precinct, which means that basically, as the description reads, Lana Lang will be married to Lee Adama in this magical crime drama show that also features Number Six and Gaius Baltar, if that's not made of win I don't know what is. Also, that Wilmer Valderrama has been cast opposite of Jason Isaacs in NBC's REM pilot. Also cast is BD Wong from Law & Order: SVU.

CONCLUSION: THIS UPCOMING PILOT SEASON IS GONNA BE FUCKING GOOOOODD. AND VERY SEXY.

I honestly hope that all these shows get picked up for series. Poe sounds interesting, though an ABC show that is set in the 1800s? I don't know how it'll do underneath ABC in ratings given its general demographic. 17th Precinct and REM are similar in genres, so hopefully NBC will give them both time to develop and grow because it seems like they are trying for something new after the failure of The Cape. We shall see.

And okay yeah, I kinda just wanna see the BSG cast and Jason Isaacs occupying the same network together. I admit it, I'm shameless. But can you really blame me? ;p

I'll be watching both Poe & 17th Precinct for the cast(s) alone, should they go to series. But I hope both will do away with the episodic procedural formula, as I rarely like those kinds of shows.

The cast alone for these shows are definitely an added plus to make me watch. I'm curious as the the plots, and I know that was Ron Moore he can create something complex even if it sounds like a regular procedural kind of show (he did take the BSG aspect and did something epic with it). REM sounds vaguely fascinating due to the Inception-style description and duh, it has Jason Isaacs. Win. Poe I think will be a more difficult sell, but I'm hoping they'll do something interesting with it because TABRETT BETHELL and NATALIE DORMER! :D
