"Bow-hunting is an important skill!"
Jan. 8th, 2011 06:26 amDean Winchester says this line during the first season, though we've never seen them bow-hunting. Or any kind of uses of such weaponry besides the guns and knives they have.
I honestly think it would be pretty cool to see them wielding over weapons and arsenal besides the same old guns and tricks. If this season is all about getting "back to the basics" as they claim, I would like more extension to the hunting business; preferably with different techniques different hunters use. This makes me think about my ideas for an international look at this business, since different cultures use different kinds of weapons and how to use them; imagine Japanese hunters as opposed to Western hunters we normally see handling particular situations and their own tactics and methods, and seeing how effective they are. I think it would be pretty nifty. Then again I tend to look beyond what the show has given us, which makes me hungry for something more than what we're limited to (or what the writers fail to acknowledge or bring up ever again, as they often do, but I digress). There's definitely unique and different kinds of creatures and monsters elsewhere, as evidenced from this current season during "Weekend at Bobby's", so it would be nice to get a glimpse into other cultures and how they handle their own monsters.
These are just some thoughts I've been having. I often look at the bigger picture of the universe they are in, which is something I wish the show would take more seriously. *shrugs*

including giving us some ANGEL AND HEAVEN ACTION!no subject
Date: 2011-01-09 03:59 pm (UTC)Count me in. When I first heard about the anime I really hoped it would last long enough for the angels (at least Cas) to show up so we could see angel wings in anime form; they could make them look awesome because they wouldn't have to worry about a special effects budget.
