Dean Winchester says this line during the first season, though we've never seen them bow-hunting. Or any kind of uses of such weaponry besides the guns and knives they have.

I honestly think it would be pretty cool to see them wielding over weapons and arsenal besides the same old guns and tricks. If this season is all about getting "back to the basics" as they claim, I would like more extension to the hunting business; preferably with different techniques different hunters use. This makes me think about my ideas for an international look at this business, since different cultures use different kinds of weapons and how to use them; imagine Japanese hunters as opposed to Western hunters we normally see handling particular situations and their own tactics and methods, and seeing how effective they are. I think it would be pretty nifty. Then again I tend to look beyond what the show has given us, which makes me hungry for something more than what we're limited to (or what the writers fail to acknowledge or bring up ever again, as they often do, but I digress). There's definitely unique and different kinds of creatures and monsters elsewhere, as evidenced from this current season during "Weekend at Bobby's", so it would be nice to get a glimpse into other cultures and how they handle their own monsters.

These are just some thoughts I've been having. I often look at the bigger picture of the universe they are in, which is something I wish the show would take more seriously. *shrugs*

Same here. There are so many possibilities, and sometimes it doesn't take a huge budget or convoluted plot to really expand a universe.

So true. There is a big universe out there that the writers could explore, but more enough than not the keep using that tired Sam and Dean brotherly angst plot device. Just once I would love to see Heaven through Cas' eyes/POV.

I would love to see another episode similar to "On The Head Of A Pin" which essentially was an angel-centric and Castiel-centric episode. It astounds me that they haven't done one since the fourth season, seeing as that Castiel is a series regular and that they could have used some episodes to really explore his journey more. The fact that they keep returning to the old and tired "brotherly angst" plot is rather ridiculous.

True, I've always said the show might be about Sam and Dean, but it doesn't have to be JUST about Sam and Dean.

It is, I get that they made him a regular in season five mostly because the fans liked him and than they didn't know what to do with him, but still....

I would have wanted them to at least understand that while we love Castiel, we want his character to have something to do than just appear on the screen. The main reason we love him is because he became such a huge deal in the fourth season, his character involvement and development, his story enthralled us. To just not expand on that is sloppy and lazy.

Agreed. In this season in particular Sera seems to be taking the easy/sloppy/lazy way out with a lot of things; we're told that Dean spent a year with Lisa (and then it was the best year of her life) but instead of showing us that they used a time skip.

She lives in her own delusional land of the show, apparently. Why Kripke even gave her the reigns of the show is beyond me, but she either needs to get with the program or gtfo. :/
