I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO FEEL RIGHT NOW. THIS COULD BE POTENTIALLY GOOD OR POTENTIALLY BAD DEPENDING ON HOW IT'S HANDLED. I seriously hope this is a Ben Edlund episode because he does that kind of humor tremendously well and, yes, my biased love for him and his work and this sounds like the kind of episode he would do just for kicks. I'm uncertain how to feel about yet another breaking the fourth wall kind of an episode. HOWEVER I WANNA KNOW IF MISHA IS GONNA PLAY HIMSELF, BECAUSE OF EVERYTHING THAT WOULD BE THE MOST HILARIOUS THING EVER SEEING MISHA PORTRAY HIMSELF. YOU KNOW HE'LL LOVE DOING SOMETHING LIKE THAT, LOL! XD

However, this is what grabbed my attention because it is relevant to my interests:

"Upcoming episodes will bring more monsters and an Earth-threatening escalation of the civil war raging in Heaven. The treacherous archangel Raphael, who wants to rule the celestial kingdom, will make what Gamble calls "an aggressive personal move" on human-friendly fellow angel Castiel."



FUCK YEAH BITCHES! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, SHIT IS ACTUALLY GONNA GET DONE IN TERMS OF ~PLOT~ AND NONE OF THIS OOC GOING ALL OVER THE PLACE BULLSHIT AS THEY HAVE BEEN RECENTLY. ANGELICAL CIVIL WAR + CASTIEL VS RAPHAEL ARE GONNA SAVE THIS SEASON FROM BEING A TRAINWRECK. YOU KNOW THAT IT'S TRUE.

I'm very curious about the "aggressive personal move" Raphael is gonna pull against Castiel. The only thing I see that would be personal for him would be if something happened to Dean, because they do share their profound bond and despite there being a space between them this season (which I aggressively hate myself, but everyone knows that) Castiel still cares about Dean. So that's my prediction. Either that or Raphael cuts off his Grace and makes him powerless, which would weaken him against ever trying to take him and the rest of Heaven's forces on again. Particularly since people have said that Castiel mentioned last episode that he'd rather be down on Earth helping them more often, perhaps Raphael could personally see to that. WHATEVER MIGHT HAPPEN I AM KINDA EXCITED FOR THIS. I HAVE WAITED LIKE ALMOST ALL SEASON FOR THIS TO BE HONEST. DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE RIGHT NOW BUT THIS. \O/\O/\O/\O/

I may be getting a bit too enthusiastic after reading that, but can you blame me? I've been waiting for the angel civil war to be brought up for episodes. Sue me for getting just a wee bit excited for something that is actually relevant to my interests this season.

I am crossing my fingers that the "aggressive personal move" involves Dean. That would be awesome. Can't you imagine Cas getting all BAMFY if Raphael targets Dean?

I am just ready to get some Angel Civil War s/l on my tv. Some "showing" not "telling." And also hoping we have more of Dean being involved in helping Cas out with it -- he did offer his help after all.

I suppose that first spoiler might end up being a funny episode, but a part of me painfully misses the first season, when everything was just ... TAKEN MORE SERIOUSLY. Back when the MotW were actually scary, and you cared about Sam and Dean's fate because, well, they hadn't already died about six freaking times. I wish I could get excited about this season, but ... so far, it's just a drag.

They have become more or less a parody of themselves, and this season has been feeling like one collective badfic with only a few good episodes sprinkled here and there. I get having humor-based episodes, but there is a way to do that without constantly breaking the fourth wall and making everyone completely out of character for the sake of comedy.

Not happy about the Jared&Jensen stuff, honestly. I did like the meta stuff with the books (yes, including Becky the slash fangirl, who I found somewhat endearing), but something about this just... rubs me the wrong way. I'mma still give it a chance, but, not enthused right now.

Oh my, this must be the episode that Misha mentioned was completely flattening the fourth wall. (Also, this was my theory as to how that priest Misha pic could be related to SPN.) This could be hilarious or awful, LOL. But I'm optimistic. NOthing bring the crack like SPN does.

Oh, and I'm also excited to see more of the angel war. Because I was actually starting to be afraid that this was going to be like "searching for God", something that would just keep Cas offscreen. I also hope Raphael's personal attack involves Dean. Though I think if Raphael could cut off Cas' grace, he would have done it by now. I'm interested to see if they're going to have some Anna-like excuse why Raphael has the same vessel, though, since his was destroyed.

I had some optimism since they made a huge deal about it during 6.03, although this show has brought up important factors in the past but never dealt with them ever again (ex. Castiel's search for God being the huge disappointment of last season) But I know that whatever is happening in Heaven and what the boys are dealing with are definitely connected. Now there's confirmation that Raphael and Castiel will be having a confrontation, which makes me all excited.

Are they still using the same actor? I figured since Balthazar said that it would take a while to find another vessel, they would be choosing another actor. Unless yeah, they'll be using the same excuse to cover up the "we can't afford another actor" explanation.

I'm a bit apprehensive myself, currently this season has been on a rollarcoaster of good/bad/terrible depending on the episode being written. The constant breaking of the fourth wall was nice at first, a shout-out to fandom, however it's becoming kind of...obnoxious lately. There are ways of handling it without going to that second-hand embarrassment place and without treating it like some badfic copy or whatever as some of the episodes this season have been. Though I'm on the fence, it could be a great episode for all we know, crackalicious with a side of hilarity.

It just all depends on what the direction of the episode is going to be (a la "Changing Channels" had mostly crack but turned into srs bsns towards the end) and who the writer is. *prays it's Edlund*

On one hand, I really liked the actor who played Raphael. He was awesome, and I wouldn't mind seeing him again. However continuity-wise, it would seem rather ridiculous to have the "destroyed-body-being-fixed" excuse that never has been explained. Either way, I'm just hoping for more time with Raphael in whatever form he's in.

'cause Cas really has few personal connections, and as they mention "human-friendly" I'd say it has to be either Dean or them. ('cause the only other connection I can think of is Balthazar, and while Balthazar is also on Raphael's shitlist and it'd be killing two birds with one stone, yeah. there's that human-friendly mention there that makes me think it can't be him.)

Highly doubtful, though they have introduced the concept that angels can possess any human vessel regardless of gender (since I believe that angels are androgynous anyway). Then again, that would be expecting the show to remember that as well.

It is becoming rather obnoxiously annoying with the constant breaking-the-fourth-wall meta episodes, the SUPERNATURAL books one was kind of enough I felt. THOUGH THIS DOES SEEM VERY GABRIEL-ESQUE TO ME! I mean, "Changing Channels"? This seems sooooo like him to play this on them. And I'm actually wondering whether this is the episode that Gabriel returns and if so, I'm anxiously excited!

Agreed, so hard. They wouldn't mention human-friendly so specifically in that sentence and description unless it really is directly towards hurting someone Castiel knows, Dean is definitely very personal to him. I can just imagine the kind of anger/rage/wrath he would have realizing that Raphael was going to be coming after Dean. I can also kinda see Castiel going to Balthazar for help if it's a threatening kind of situation that needs more than just him to handle Raphael. SO MANY POSSIBILITIES WITH THIS KIND OF INFO. I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN NOW.

This makes me aching for some angel vs angel brawl of sorts. Because dammit, we need an epic one badly. I also kinda want Cas to win this fight on his own this time, lol

The fairy one was definitely not the greatest one, and with this season I'm definitely apprehensive about almost everything they plan on doing, though I don't know. It depends on how it's dealt with, and pure crack episodes like this can be surprising if there is some kind of reasoning behind it. Think "Changing Channels" (and honestly, this does sound very Gabriel-ish, because what else could explain this away?)

I'm holding out on seeing what happens with it. Though I will admit the constant breaking of the fourth wall is getting slightly annoying. There are subtle ways of going about probing the fandom without it being so blatant like this, you know?

It's rather new spoiler for me, actually. Or more of it being an actual confirmed spoiled rather than gossip and rumors. Granted we knew it would happen, but with this show you never know to what extent it'll happen in.

Well I tend to think that certain cracky episodes can work within reason. "Changing Channels" was, in my opinion, simply brilliant because it had a combination of bringing in the hilarity with the serious business of plotty relevance towards the end with the reveal of Gabriel. That was well-written and very well done, I believe, and one of my favorite episodes of last season.

It's true that the show used to have been serious back in the earlier seasons, with a few lighthearted episodes to ease the tension. It's not as coated with comedic episodes as there is now, and I think that all started during the third season when they were trying for something completely new with filler-like episodes almost all the time, however it just wasn't working since it wasn't the style of the show. I do kinda want them to start taking things more seriously like before, because God knows I hate spending all this time with filler pointless episodes before we actually start progressing to something dealing with the plot. Though having these fun cracked out episodes can be fun too, if written well and done in context of what they're dealing with, that is.
