Frak this shit.

I majorly disappointed right now. Disappointed in the network because after all the success of BSG you'd think they would at least give them another season before making such a decision, along with their stupid decision on prolonging the mid-season hiatus. But I think I'm mostly disappointed in the BSG fandom. Fans were huge over there and after the series finale it seemed like there's hardly anyone left, at least from my observations anyway. Some still hold bitter feelings towards it or for whatever reason so I guess that they figured they wouldn't give this a chance, I don't know, but I think it's unfair. Granted this wasn't going to be the same as BSG, everyone knew that, but I felt like people should have given it a chance to develop and grow and seeing with how epic it's been lately this just is a huge disappointment to me.
I'm still gonna fight it, though. I don't care that's an official announcement. I'm gonna email Syfy, I'm gonna try and make a petition, get people to watch it. If there's one thing I've learned is that us fans have a voice and we have to power to bring something back if we work hard enough.
Contact Syfy via email (feedback@syfy.com) and tell them to reconsider. Please.

Date: 2010-10-28 09:30 am (UTC)Exactly! Not to mention them switching it from Fridays to Tuesdays, and that threw me off even when I did know they were back. What I don't understand is that this is a prequel to their biggest and most successful series they had, so why couldn't they have at least given it the proper support and treatment to ensure it would be watched? Between the hiatus, the day change and now the news of them actually not airing the rest of the episodes until next year? What the hell does that say?
I emailed Syfy and told them just that (but more eloquently) because it really is unfair. I mean, they renewed Haven (another show I watch) and that's a new show, had some struggles, but cannot show the same kind of consideration for Caprica? Something isn't right about that....
We know Sam, we know where the Cylons came from and how and why, and we know what they're going to do in the future, so that scene is just mindblowing.
I know, that scene was chilling and mindblowing all at once because it really was phenomenal how they could fit all that together. And the thing is, this is a character/family drama that is setting up these events for what we know is gonna happen, and we've been gradually developing that and with all this groundwork that is building towards what we know is the inevitable, you cannot do that in the limited amount of episodes they have left. I want to explore the worlds more and the different cultures, other characters and their relationships, the politics and the laws and religious philosophies and how it all ties together. Everything is so complex in this show, it's perhaps one of the few well-written and well-executed shows on their network.
Someone mentioned that it could be because of Blood and Chrome being greenlit, however I don't think it would have mattered if there were two prequels of the BSG universe featured on their network. They had SG1 and SGA airing at the same time! Why can't they with these two, come on.
