PROFOUND BOND, Y'ALL.
Oct. 25th, 2010 04:00 pmOH MY GOD YOU GUYS, THESE TWO I CAN'T EVEN. OH SHIP, I DO LOVE YOU SFM. ♥
THE ANGST, THE LOVELY ANGST. CASTIEL POURING DEAN A DRINK WHICH MAKES ME ALL ♥____♥, THE FACT THAT DEAN IS QUESTIONING AND WORRIED ABOUT SAM ALONG WITH WORRYING ABOUT CASTIEL SINCE HE'S ALL "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?" AND CASTIEL LOOKING ALL ASHAMED BECAUSE HE'S BEING PULLED IN TWO DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS SINCE DID YOU SEE THAT FACE?? CASTIEL'S CLEARLY CONFLICTED, AND ALL SOFT-SPOKEN BECAUSE HE HATES DEAN BEING ALL BITTER TOWARDS HIM, BUT TRYING TO MAKE HIM UNDERSTAND WHY HE CAN'T AND WHEN HE RETURNS MAKES A PROMISE TO DEAN BECAUSE HE'S AFRAID OF LOSING HIM AND, OMG I'M ALL SQUEEEEEEE! IT'S LIKE, OH MY GOD.
SHIP, I HAVE MISSED YOU TONS. ♥ ♥ ♥
CAN I MENTION HOW UTTERLY ADORABLE CASTIEL IS IN THIS CLIP? I JUST WANNA REACH OUT AND HUG HIM, THE POOR ANGEL. BUT THAT'S DEAN'S JOB SO....
ALSO GABRIEL'S HORN? PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS SIGNIFICANT AT SOMETHING....BECAUSE I'M HOPING GABRIEL SUDDENLY POPS UP, SCARING THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF DEAN AND SAM, AND GOES "HEY! MY HORN! BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER FOR THAT THING!" LOL!
OH SHOW, THIS IS HOW YOU SHOULD BE. CONTINUE TO DO THIS AND I'LL BE HAPPY. :D

Date: 2010-10-26 12:28 am (UTC)Basically, I'M TORN. ON THE ONE HAND, CAAAAAAAAAAAS AND DEEEEEEEEAN. On the other, it makes me :( that Castiel didn't get back to Dean for days. I know he's crazy busy in Heaven, but I just want them to be clooooose like they were last season. And Dean shouldn't expect Cas to appear every time he calls; the Winchesters aren't the ground zero of angelic importance anymore. But at the same time, if Castiel can search an entire town in two seconds, how hard is it to tell Dean that he can't help with something and then leave, instead of radio silence for days (or a year, in Sam's case)? IDK, it's just a little thing that bugs me. I see what the spoilers meant about a reset Castiel. I am wondering where they're ultimately going with him, but for an angel that was damn close to human, well, I just hope that development didn't go down the drain. Harshing the squee, I know.

Date: 2010-10-26 01:32 am (UTC)No but seriously, I understand what you mean. There's definitely something underneath the layers of whatever Castiel is dealing with and either he cannot mention it because he doesn't want Dean to be involved with whatever he's dealing with or that Castiel is in a position where he has to not tell Dean the entirety of what is happening and it's making him utterly conflicted. I honestly think that if he does know something he definitely wants to help, because this is his Dean and he doesn't want their bond to be broken, but has to do it concretely due to whatever is happening upstairs. This angel civil war has really done something to him where he has to do, as he said, "regrettable things" and it makes me wonder what regrettable things.

I'm hoping that's not that case because the only reset I see is Castiel not telling Dean the entire story whereas last season, when he had nothing to lose, he was willing to spill out everything and unleash his anger and frustration. Now he's completely torn on what to do because it seems like the responsibility falls onto him for whatever might happen, good or bad. And really, that development didn't go down that drain because look at his behavior in the clip. There's definitely human mannerisms he's portraying unlike from before when we were first introduced to him. Hence why he's being conflicted, he knows where his duty lies right now but he wants to help out his friend.
So, to make this not entirely longer than it already is, I'm definitely concerned but not entirely worried over what this means. It actually makes me curious about what is happening on the Heaven side of things and what Castiel is dealing with.

Date: 2010-10-26 01:56 am (UTC)I suppose that's a good way to put it. This season has been really hit or miss for me, and so far Cas has been hit, but I'm afraid he might be miss in the future.
I also wonder about the regrettable actions bit. I mean, his pivotal moment at the end of S4 was realizing that the greater good isn't worth doing *anything* for, so I just hope we're not retreading that. And I know there's a difference between following orders and being in charge, but I just hope Cas isn't going to turn into what the management of Heaven was before. I don't THINK that's what they're doing, but who knows.
I do think Castiel is being torn in different directions, and I think he really doesn't know what to do about Heaven's problems.
And I think at the end of last season, he should have stayed with his boyfriend, and let Heaven sort itself out. :) Let God clean up his own mess.I do wish that Dean could help Castiel in some way, just like Castiel helped him last season. But it's true that Castiel had nothing left to lose last season. I don't think the development went down the drain (from what we've seen so far), but I don't want a whole season of cold Cas. :(
And Re: Gabriel: I HOPE GOD BROUGHT HIM BACK AT THE END OF LAST SEASON, AND GABE WENT BACK UNDERCOVER BECAUSE HE ALREADY GOT KILLED ONCE FOR THAT SHIT, AND HE'S BEEN BACK UP TO HIS AWESOMENESS OF DOING WHATEVER THE HELL HE WANTS AND LETTING HEAVEN SORT ITS OWN WAR OUT. Though I find it ironic that Gabriel, of all people, has a Horn of Truth. I know it's in the lore, but SPN Gabriel is about as untruthful as they come, LOL. Probably why he left the horn behind when he ditched.
Also, from what Cas says in the clip, there goes fandom's theory that Sam is Lucifer. Oh well. I didn't think they would go there, but it would have been awesome.

Date: 2010-10-26 09:20 am (UTC)I'm remaining optimistic because Castiel and the other supporting characters have been carrying the show for me at this moment, so I'm knocking on wood that it remains that way.
but I just hope Cas isn't going to turn into what the management of Heaven was before. I don't THINK that's what they're doing, but who knows
I highly doubt that's the case. I just think Cas is trying to control the chaos and perhaps try to manage what God had originally intended and not what the angels were trying to control up there, since it seemed like since God left the angels have been taking the charge. But Castiel wants to set things in order so they follow their Father's plans of natural order and peace instead of random chaos and wanting them to take a new paradise or whatever else the angels want. Granted, despite him saying there are others that side with him he's only one angel, it's a lot to handle with all these pressures and like you said, he doesn't know how to manage Heaven's problems and get the others to listen to him. Hence him being at war.
Of course this is my personal speculation judging what we know so far and how I see his character arc naturally progressing to.
I do wish that Dean could help Castiel in some way, just like Castiel helped him last season.
Same here. And isn't this what Bobby said to them in the previous episode about them being somewhat selfish? Even though yeah the Sam issue is kind of a big deal, there are other bigger deals that don't just revolve around the Winchesters and I feel like Dean really does need to support Castiel and even offer him help and assistance if there's any trouble for once.
LOL @ the untruthiness of Gabriel, which is pretty true, though yeah he probably did leave it behind once he went underneath "witness protection" after leaving Heaven.
Also, from what Cas says in the clip, there goes fandom's theory that Sam is Lucifer. Oh well. I didn't think they would go there, but it would have been awesome.
It definitely would have been awesome, there are multiple different ways they could have handled the "Lucifer is still inside Sam" concept, but dammit they seemed to debunk that theory. However, I'm glad there's a mention of the Lucifer theory here, which is kind of six episodes late. I felt like it should have been immediately mentioned in the premiere. Also, has there even been a mention regarding Adam? At all?

Date: 2010-10-26 02:08 pm (UTC)Nope, no mention of Adam. I guess whoever pulled Sam out didn't care about him. :(

Date: 2010-10-27 03:06 pm (UTC)That would be huge continuity fail if they do forget about him, and also whatever happened to Michael? Still stuck down there as well? :/

Date: 2010-10-27 03:21 pm (UTC)Though, really, I had hoped that Sam just sort of had Lucifer hanging out in the back of his head, hitchhiking out of hell with him.
