Not watching Supernatural because there is something more important that has affected me right now.

J.K. Rowling's interview with Oprah. (part 2 and part 3)
"It was an escape for all these children. Imagine what it meant for me."
You guys, I am legitimately shedding tears right now after that interview. Everything about this woman is just completely amazing, and listening to her speak in that interview was inspiring, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and I was smiling and crying at many of the things that she said. And it's not just her talking about the success of writing Harry Potter -- and not ruling out the possibility for more Harry Potter in the future -- but she also talks exclusively about her personal life and the struggles that she faced and the influences of what made Harry Potter happen, including her relationships with her parents, her marriages, the death of her mother, and everything else in between.. She also talks about something I didn't know about her until recently that she suffered from clinical depression.
"Clinical depression is a terrible place to be... It is that absence of feeling, that absence of hope. You don't know you can feel better. It is so difficult to describe to someone who hasn't been there, because it isn't sadness."
As someone who also suffered from clinical depression, this made me tear up more than any other part of the interview because it hit close to home this statement is to me personally (and how the Dementors were a manifestation of that depression in the books, something I didn't know before but it all makes so much sense given her reveals about certain struggles Harry goes through were inspirations from her own life while writing them). Her own struggles with single parenthood also remind me of what my own mother went through with rebuilding her life with me and my sister after the divorce. Just hearing J.K. Rowling speak about her life in such a sincerely genuine and humble manner, about what fueled her passion of writing Harry Potter and everything in between just are so utterly remarkable, empowering and makes me love her even more. Everything she's achieved, coming from nothing to where she is now, never have I been so affected by someone like this. She truly is a goddess in her own right with how eloquent and well-spoken she is and how genuine and sincere she is with everything she talks about, which she speaks so openly and won't go into further detail if she doesn't want to. Not to mention look how gorgeous she is, my God. *__*

The entire interview is worth watching because seriously, if you love the books and you love her, you'll definitely feel affected by this interview like I was. There are no words to describe how utterly amazing and empowering she is and how she has truly affected me. I really want to meet her some day. I'll sell my soul to meet this incredible woman who has changed my life through her phenomenally wonderful series. I'd probably end up flailing and crying in her presence because it would be like meeting royalty, you know? But I have so much respect for this woman, so much high respect I can't stop crying from watching this.

I love you J.K. Rowling, you are my inspiration, my childhood. You've touched something deep inside of me and brought something into my life that changed me for the better, and for that I am forever grateful. You are truly my hero in more ways than you can imagine. ♥

SPN was a big improvement over last week. Nowhere near as cringeworthy as I feared considering the subject matter. Which is not to say that I didn't have issues with it, but there were bits that really captured my attention this week.

Could be because Sera Gamble didn't write it, I think. I'm glad to hear that it was an improvement, which leaves hope for the rest of the season. Minimal hope, but enough that I'm not raging like with the premiere. Though still not watching tonight's episode, only gonna get the specifics of what happened because to be honest I'm more excited for the preview for next Friday. \o/

I really want to hear your thoughts on the whole Lisa situation once you get the lowdown on tonight.

I'm not really understanding what is going on? Like, is Lisa gone or what? I'm getting tidbits here and there about Lisa handling a gun and kicking Dean out, but they're still together? I don't get it. Enlighten me please?

Lisa needs to take Ben and run in the opposite direction, because if what I'm reading is true they are fucking up Lisa's (nonexistent) characterization and personality with just adding more conflict and drama into Dean's life and it's not healthy at all. :/

Well firstly, they up and bought a new house and moved. Dean was freaking out and overbearing protective man with them all episode: losing his temper with Ben, putting them on lockdown and not letting them leave the house. Dean leaves to go help Sam.

Then he goes back to Lisa and Ben. Lisa gave an awesome speech at the end of the episode about how Dean isn't a construction worker, that he is a hunter. That he didn't really want to be there, he wanted to be out with Sam fighting the good fight ect, ect. Dean tries to protest and she tells him she is asking him to go. All of this is awesome and makes me think Lisa is a very smart, capable woman. And then at the end she basically tells him that she and Ben will be sitting on their asses waiting for him to show up whenever he wants and he can have both worlds, thus negating the rest of her awesome speech. Also basically refuting all the emphasis she put on Ben having a solid, dependable father figure in his lfe as well (not that I thought Dean ever was considering he said he basically suffered PTSD over the year and was suffering nightmares and drinking, but that's a whole other issue).

So Dean will spend the season manpaining over missing his family and probably making tearful phone calls. Until the end of the season (oh heck probably hiatus) when he will show back up on Lisa's doorstep and she'll be waiting to welcome him back with open arms.

That's just. Stupid.

That's what I kinda feared would happen, like Lisa doesn't have a life outside of Dean and is waiting for his return, whenever that is, like some desperate housewife and Dean will spend all his time emoing about this family that he knows will always be in danger no matter what and really...they aren't even his family. He cares about Lisa I get that, but seriously just, no.

I don't know how I feel about it to be honest. It's not like I don't want Dean to have a normal life, but this is not healthy and it seriously is destructive and ridiculous and just. Yeah. I don't really care for it. It's insulting to Dean's character and unfair to Lisa and Ben and just, ugh. idek. I'm done with that part of the whole show.

I just want Castiel back.

Oh wait, I changed my mind. Dean will go until haitus never mentioning her and Ben again and then show up on her doorstep at the end of the episode. I mean lets try for consistency, right? :P

lol, since we know this show is ALL ABOUT the consistency with characters and storylines, amirite? ;p

Also, during the hunt Dean told Sam he didn't want them living like he did growing up. Sam gave him a speech about just because he wasn't out hunting and immersing them in the life didn't mean that he wasn't putting them in the same type situation they grew up in. He mentioned the lock down, the moving, the overbearingness. It was kinda awesome. Sam might not be completely right in the emotional department right now, but I'm actually liking the stuff with him right now.

Sam being sensible? Wow, that is impressive. And yeah, that's a very nice point to make because he's absolutely right and it's something that Dean should have understood from the beginning (though I blame that more on bad inconsistent writing than anything else, like Sera Gamble was the one who wanted to bring Lisa back so, go figure all this unnecessary melodramatic poor characterization crap with Dean and whatnot).

I don't know what to think about all this though. I'm just, not interested. lol, as if you couldn't tell.

Same here. It's the things she ends up speaking about and saying, you know she's saying them from the bottom of her heart. I feel so affected with her words because of that, and how well-spoken she is it's just very heartfelt. I love her sfm. ♥

I'll admit, I don't care much for the HP books or movies, but have always admired this woman for so many things, and this interview has just solidified that. I've also appreciated the fact that her books single-handedly got so many kids reading again. You are right, she's truly inspirational. :)

I love how well-spoken she is and how she answers questions and gives tidbits about what made all this happen, her struggles and even the outcome of everything, even when people were telling her no and that she wouldn't come this far. So remarkable. That bit in the end about the 20-something girl coming up to her and saying that JK Rowling was her childhood made my heart swell because that is precisely how many of us fans feel. ♥

I have nothing but the utmost respect for this woman.

I teared up so many times watching this interview. Honestly so amazing. I have so much respect for this woman, and she's wholly deserved all of the amazing things that have come her way. My childhood wouldn't have been the same without her, and I will be forever grateful to have been able to grow up with Harry and escape into his world. ♥

I wouldn't be the person today had it not been for the Harry Potter series, and that's the absolute truth. I've read some interviews with her in the past and I knew that I loved her, and this interview really completely made me tear up because of everything she said with such sincerity and humbleness. Her fame and fortune hasn't gotten to her head, she's a very stable and grounded woman who is intelligent and well-spoken and I just, everything she said in this interview made me love her 100x more than I already did.
