Also, during the hunt Dean told Sam he didn't want them living like he did growing up. Sam gave him a speech about just because he wasn't out hunting and immersing them in the life didn't mean that he wasn't putting them in the same type situation they grew up in. He mentioned the lock down, the moving, the overbearingness. It was kinda awesome. Sam might not be completely right in the emotional department right now, but I'm actually liking the stuff with him right now.
