Day 29 - Current TV show obsession
Right now it's a tie between Supernatural and Legend of the Seeker.
Supernatural I've been with for the last four seasons now, from the second season which is where I first started watching the show. Although some may know that I'm still kind of torn on where I stand about the show as of right now and my opinions about the direction it's taking. That may change when the new season starts, I don't know. And of course I immediately was hooked onto Legend of the Seeker which has been my recent newest obsession. I consider LOTS to be something that gives me what some shows haven't done lately, which is that feeling of satisfactory fulfillment with the story and the characters and a great kind of escapism. Of course, I've already gushed about the show before and probably will continue to do so in the future, but yeah. Those are my current television obsessions as of right now. Things are most likely to change though depending, since my obsessions and objectives change constantly. Especially with all the other shows I have on my queue, it's only a matter of time before another new obsession kicks in.
Runner Up: Caprica. While I do love the show so far it's taking far too long to finish the first season due to this unnecessary midseason hiatus. So I really can't say it's an obsession yet, but it's getting there.

Date: 2010-07-13 08:03 pm (UTC)You can read a brief but more detailed version here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legend_of_the_Seeker), but it really is a fantastic and wonderful series, lighthearted and fun but also having dark and intriguing themes as well. There's a wide-range of fascinating characters from this world and their origins, like wizards and witches, Mord'Siths, Confessors, sorceresses, and some fantastical creatures and beasts. I've said it before, but it's a mixture of Harry Potter and Star Wars and Lord of the Rings all wrapped into one show, and it's awesome. Plus, the female characters on the show? Kick so much ass. In fact, I will say I haven't seen strong women like this shown since Buffy and Xena, and that's saying something right there. Every single character is amazing and wonderful in their own right, and it's probably one of the few shows I have that I can watch without feeling frustrated or unfulfilled with the direction of the story (unless one is a fan of the books because it does take a detour in places I've heard, but I think it does well on its own as a show and it doesn't lose track on what the story is mainly about).
And yeah, it's great. And aesthetically it's just absolutely gorgeous. From the costumes to the settings, since it's filmed in New Zealand. And the action sequences just blow your mind.
I literally can gush about LOTS all day, lol. ;)
