Okay, first I have to say. I'm a huge horror fan, moreover I'm a HUGE Nightmare on Elm Street fan. So you betcha when they first announced they were recreating it I literally did a jaw-drop of horror and fear, because I'm like STOP FUCKING WITH THE CLASSICS HOLLYWOOD! >:O But upon seeing these previews and trailers, and the epic cast ensemble (KATIE CASSIDY! ♥ THOMAS DEKKER!), it doesn't look that bad. In fact, it looks even scarier than the original, if the trailers say anything about how the feel of the film is going to be like. I'm not saying it'll replace my love for the original NOES, because nothing will. But you know, you can't knock it until you've seen it and I'm definitely going to be seeing it on the 30th. :D

I also have a deep fascination with psychological effects of sleep and the mysteries of our subconscious, since we're still very boggled by the science of our own brains, and the very concept of the "if you die in your dreams, you die in real life" urban legend is still motherfucking freaky.

(I will say though, while this new one will be on a scarier level it definitely won't beat out THE FREDDY KRUEGER '90s RAP SONG! Don't forget the Will Smith version, too. lol, oh 90s)

I am such a horror junkie, and while I kinda of despise the remakes of many classics this actually looks to be awesome, and because it's NOES I just can't resist. Even if it does turn out badly I'm still gonna love it. Hey, I have the entire DVD collection of the NOES saga, many of them incredibly campy like whoa yet I love them to bits.

I'm usually dubious about remakes of films I love. But this looks so brilliant and creepy and there are some awesome people in it. I want it!

I'm the same. I always roll my eyes whenever they attempt at remakes, but this looks pretty decent and from what I can tell, they are recreating scenes with a freakier and scarier impact which will have the same effectiveness the original did when it initially came out way back when.

I'm still iffy about the new Freddy face makeup, but I'll deal.

I like how it's more of a re-imagining and from what I see, it follows the same story but only upgraded to fit more appropriately, and definitely seems scarier and more darker than the original. I love the original, always will, but something about seeing the trailer has sold me that it'll be pretty awesome.

I really want to see this but godammit Nightmare on Elm Street is one of the only movies I can remember completely freaking me out. I will most likely go see it but I know no one would wanna see it with me. I am not going to sleep for month after though :/

I have a strange fascination and love for the NOES series. I was completely obsessed with it during high school, like I marathoned all seven movies over and over again, mesmerized the dialogue, just obsessed. It's one of my favorite horror movie franchises. <3 The original series may seem campy now, but dammit if it wasn't awesome back when it was originally released. :D

I have this knack for being scared shitless, I love that adrenaline rush. Even if I have to leave my light on at night, check all the locks on the doors and windows, it's all worth it. I can't explain my massive love for it. I'm just weird that way, lol! XD

Another horror fan *high fives* I haven't been paying much attention to this movie, but seeing that Katie Cassidy is involved is definitely a selling point for the movie. I love the originals because at first they scared me, but then just became a fun movie to watch on Saturday so I'm hopeful that the new movie will be good. Scary would be a bonus.

HORROR FANS UNITE! \O/ It's my weakness, I just cannot ignore anything horror related. It's kind of my drug. I mean, I'm a girlie girl and all but, fuck romantic comedies, horror movies is where it's at for me. ;)

I definitely think that having Katie part of the main cast sealed it for me. Like, I know that I would see the film eventually because how could I not? But I just cannot resist when there's actors that I absolutely love and adore. I agree about the originals, they were scary for when they were made way back when, but it's kinda fun just watching them now. I can understand and see why it would be remade because as effectively scary they were, there was def some camp in there, esp in the later films where it was more humorous than anything (I still love them though because of it, lol). I think this new film is going for all-out scary rather than having the regular Freddy sarcasm, which was one of the trademarks of his character. Which I think is nice, a little upgrade from the camp to OMGHOLYSHIT category.

We'll just see how it goes. :)

I want to see this strictly for Katie Cassidy, lol. I was pissed when I found out they were remaking it, and really wanted to slap Hollywood with a Knock It The Frak Off Bat. But I could use a Katie fix, I just can't sit through Melrose Place for her. I tried and lasted two episodes.
