++ All you guys are so ridiculously crackalicious, and I love you all for it. I feel like I should do DAZZLING CAPSLOCK posts more often, especially when talking about Misha fucking Collins. But they come so spontaenously and at random so, you never know! Either way, I love you all for being so whacked and cracky with me. ++ Today is June 1st, 2009. A significant date for anyone that watched Dark Angel back in the day, when terrorists detonated an electromagnetic pulse within the U.S., crashing all computer systems and basically turned America into a third-world country. Just a little trivia, and while it hasn't happened in our reality there are certain resemblences and similarities between that (and other fictional worlds) and our world, and it really makes you think, you know? What would happen if suddenly tomorrow our country turned upside down, how would we survive? How would we adapt? Just something to really consider when watching one of your fandoms, those connections.

++ Went to work today and already I'm exhausted. My God, this is gonna be another longggg week. Yipeee! /note sarcasm

++ I had more to say, but I'm just too fucking tired to really give anything at this current moment. Other than Leighton Meester looking motherfucking fierce at the MTV Movie Awards, which I didn't watch because MTV is craptastic and those awards are a joke, but seriously gurlfriend be rockin' it. Hee! I know that episode. I also remember seeing him in CSI:NY and of course I was like "I will never see my angel the same way again..." But that was before I'd watched Karla, so yeah. Heh.

Of course my mother knew his face from one of the NYPD Blue episodes. MISHA IS JUST EVERYWHERE! SLOWLY TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!! MUAHAHA!! XDD

Heh. Thought I'd be the only one who caught that DA tidbit. It's a shame that show was canceled after only two seasons. Season 2 got a little wacky with all of the different transgenics but I still think it had more story to tell, especially concerning Alec and Joshua.

Heh, I was kinda waiting for the date to arrive, tbh, knowing the show took it into the near-future and how scarily similar it is to our world in ways.

I agree, while I wasn't huge on season two I wished the show hadn't been canceled so soon. There were so many different places they could've gone, and I kinda wanted to know about Max and her supposed secong coming destiny thing. I definitely wanted to know what was going to happen with the transgenics, and they did kinda left it open in the finale, so idk.

They did make this three-book series to kind of explain Max's importance but I honestly can't remember what it was. Something about a virus, I think and Max's blood was the antidote. I only read the books once 'cause I thought they were poorly written but I do remember there was a resolution to the Logan/Max relationship and them not being able to touch. And I think the first book was a prequel to the series and explained how Logan knew so much about the X-5's and Manticore. But, like I said, I only read them once and they were pretty awful:).

Most tie-in novelizations often suck in my opinion. There are times when I'll go "I've read better fanfic than this crap!" which in some cases is very true.

I watched it, although I had no idea who Jensen was back then (so when getting into SPN I was like "oh yeah, that guy from DA!" XD). I really liked the concept for the show, dark and bleak future it was, but wished it'd gone on longer. Oh well, I then started with my BSG for the dark bleakness of scifi and real world affairs, so that's that. ;)

It's funny because I liked Alec but most of fandom now watches the show JUST for Jensen being Alec (and crazy!Ben from S1) whereas I watched it because I like those kinds of shows dealing with a dystopian futures. It's just hilarious to me that some SPN fans will only watch S2 because of Jensen, which I'm like UM GUYZ S1 WAS AWESOME TOO U KNOW BETTER EVEN! But heh.

yeah, exactly. i loved alec, but i'd never heard of jensen before i saw him in dark angel, and that was, like, i don't even know. seven years ago? (in spn, i literally went OH MY FUCKING GOD THAT'S ALEC when i saw the first episode. :D) but yeah. i watched it because it was brilliant, because, as you too said, i like those kinds of shows. i loved season two, and yeah, it had alec, but season one's where it all started, season one's what really made me love the show, and asd;afdlkds i miss it.

I could understand the mutations, especially when dealing with mutating DNA to create the ultimate killing machine and some of their first creations backfired and were flawed. But I guess the whole "releasing them into the public" was slightly, idk, not exactly how it could've gone. I would've preferred had Max escaped from Manticore and then went to research and find ways to save everyone else, find out what Manticore was doing and discovering her own destiny in the process (because there was something going on with her towards the end....)

Oh, I can definitely imagine it happening. If it isn't already happening right now. We've advanced so much with our technology, who knows what's going on behind closed doors?

Some appeared to be too X-Men, I agree. I can understand the altered mutations and all, like Joshua, a man/dog combination, but some of the others were a wee bit too farfetched for some of the audience to take seriously I think. It wasn't like season one and had they continued down the route of where season one was heading I think the show would've seen at least another season. But idk, we'll never know.

I loved that show back then. I feel like it got revived today it would have much greater significance to the world we live in today. Not that it didn't before, but I think it would mesh well with what's on television now.
