++ It appears that FOX is to cancel TSCC, which with the disappointment wasn't too surprising given the ratings. There are ways to have fans fight against it but it seems the decision has been made indefinitely. I mean surely I'm saddened because there are plenty of directions to go and questions left unanswered, though the finale did that have completion to the season that most series don't have when they're canceled. It's open for more possibilities if they choose to, say, make a televised movie or a straight-to-DVD expansion of it. It'll be missed that's for sure, but I'm glad they were able to wrap it up but still leave room for more to be told, as the Terminator mythology will always live on regardless.

There's also some uncertainty regarding Dollhouse and its fate, though Joss still remains hopeful despite it being in "limbo" at the moment. All I can say is, if FOX cancels Dollhouse alongside TSCC I will be majorly pissed. Sacrifice one to save the other, but to sacrifice both? Hell no.

++ I'm becoming very tempted in making a little Blair/Castiel thingie mainly because from the poll competition meme that has been going on. They're both my favorite characters and I love them and they're fierce like whoa, so why not have them duke it out with their fierceness? I can totes see Blair warming up to him and teaching him how to be all schemey without getting into trouble with his superiors. Much. ALTHOUGH SIX/CASTIEL IS STILL MY CRACKY OTP, AS THEY ARE PERFECTLY FIERCE TOGETHER AND ARE MEANT TO BE (BESIDES DEAN/CASTIEL), F'REALS.

++ Seeing it being advertised around lately, I've been thinking about getting a Dreamwidth account. It sounds kinda awesome given what I've read and researched about it. It's like LJ, but a bit more secure and friendlier as I've been told. So, idk. It looks nice, so strongly considering it.

++ PSA: Le sigh, wank and drama concerning fandom is just utterly ridiculous. For future reference, when approaching a debate and you have nothing valid of an argument to back up your opinion in rebuttal to a reasonably explained response, is not what a healthy and civil debate makes. Particularly when a rebuttal is merely saying "fuck your opinion". Look, personal preferences and perceptions are fine, but attacking one thing when claiming fandom is attacking something else for the same reasons isn't making you look better, either. Double standards, it happens on both sides of the equation here, not just one. It's okay to be opinionated and passionate about your opinion but for the sake of creating a drama we can just agree to disagree on it and let it go.

And that's the end of that.

I know. They're being all "this is definite" due to ratings (which weren't up to par, and I'm still boggled at that rly) but I'm still kinda holding out until the upfront despite it all. IKR? It's majorly disappointing and the ratings went down because of those episodes which, wtfrak? Those were both the STRONGEST episodes ever. TSCC finale blew everything out of the water and was amazingly awesome, the same with 1.09 for Dollhouse. It just makes me frustrated that the ratings are what dictates the fate of shows and not the fanbases and reactions from critics and such. FOX should've just stuck with Mondays. Fridays are BADHORRIBLEBAD for any show to succeed. Srsly.

Crack!pairings are srsly the best ways to go. When fandom is all in uproars with shipping wars and whatnot, crack!pairings are what calms the mind from all that insanity.

Now I have an image in my head of when they first meet and Blair saying something along the lines of "What are you supposed to be a Jehovah's Witness? You're not going to try to sell me magazines that will save my soul are you?"

The ratings system should be changed. Granted they set up the Hulu and the Fox.com sites so they can monitor who is watching it online to indicate more hits of viewings, but that can be iffy as well especially since they calculate all those ratings the day after it aired. It's just so screwy sometimes, but that's how the business works. Unfortunately. I wish we could make it better, particularly since a lot of people are finding alternative ways of viewing their shows online (whether downloading or watching from the site, or DVR or whatever). So, idk.

See? This is the kind of screwed up system it is with television and its ratings. I mean there are shows that get lesser ratings but some networks keep them anyway regardless, but sometimes it depends on the network and statistics with their popular rated shows. I know that Heroes slacked quite a bit but they're still planning on getting another season or something like that, because NBC considers it their best and highest show yet. I know that SPN had been kind of just barely reaching its limit on the WB/CW in the earlier seasons, sans this season because this season has been off the hook. So yeah, idk how they're going to work all this out.

It's all complicated and gives me a headache.

It's strange because FOX was totes behind TSCC when it first premiered, but that was during the writer's strike last year and nothing else was on so there were no other competitions. FOX also were behind Dollhouse from the start, promising to air the whole season and see where it goes, but from the confusion of whether it'll be 13 episodes or 12 and the changing of the pilot and all that kind of contradicts that. But again, this business is fickle enough as it is, so idk.

But I agree that they would do much better on other networks since FOX has this "ratings are what matter" mentality. Of course having them both be on Fridays was a huge indicator of that strategy.

Hee, but of course Dean/Castiel would become popular within the Big Bang. Their love is epic, like whoa. ;D ♥

Most people didn't know that TSCC returned because it wasn't promoted enough that it moved to Fridays. :/ FOX's promoting strategy fails massively.

It's kinda sad because Fridays were my epic scifi day, now with BSG gone and TSCC probably getting canned indefinitely and Dollhouse on the edge of that threat as well...what will I have to watch? Srsly. Fail FOX, utter fail.

I wouldn't be surprised if TSCC is canceled at this point. Rumors have been going around for a while. Dollhouse, however, seems to bring in some viewers and could benefit from being the Friday night slot holder, with BSG and TSCC gone. Less competition means higher ratings, surely.

I would still love Dollhouse to be placed on Monday nights. Fridays are generally iffy anyway and they'd probably even get boosted in ratings if they placed it on another day and timeslot. But yeah, no TSCC and BSG competition would be slim. I'd just like more promotion, plz.

I really don't mind anymore. I'll enjoy the next episodes and if we get a second season (I'm talking about Dollhouse, yes xD), that would be amazing. If we don't, I really never thought we could. Firefly's cancellation still hurts (and yes, I'm aware that this happened 7 years ago), so I don't trust them at all. Fox, where good television goes to die (I used to have an icon which said that ¬¬*).

The thing is I know that FOX has new exeucs working at the main office since then, and actually approached Eliza to come up with a new show in which she approached Joss; so really, if it weren't for FOX we wouldn't have Dollhouse to begin with. It's actually amazing that they've agreed to air the entire season, even with some sketchiness along the way. I do want to believe that FOX has been behind the show all the way, even though the network as a whole has its issues with canceling shows that don't get good ratings.

I'm wary but staying optimistic.

XD Yeah, I liked the whole voting in the beginning but then it started getting ridiculous with the repeated offenses of people going "OMG VOTE THIS PERSON OR I'LL DIE!" or some shit like that. That's where the fun kind of dissolves. It would've been awesome had Misha won, though one fanatical fandom against another fanatical fandom, there's going to be some batshittery happening.

I've excepted the fact that T:SCC wasn't going to come back months ago when the rumours started that the set was torn down, but I don't think I will ever forgive FOX for cancelling Dollhouse if they do. There's been mixed things about whether we should be worried or keeping with the optimism regarding Dollhouse. I've been hopeful and according to Joss and Eliza they are too even if there's nothing official yet so, we'll just be waiting along with them until the upfronts apparently.

We always make that promise, don't we? Vow to never watch FOX again...until something else shiny comes along that'll most likely get canceled the same way.

Aww, which episode did you watch that you felt disappointed in? Because the episodes and the story picks up and it's MUCH better for those that felt the same way regarding Dollhouse. I'd say you should try again if you'd like because it does get much more awesome later on, and it's going to be even more amazing and epic. That was the third episode "Stage Fright", and it wasn't necessarily the strongest but I still liked it. You should definitely see the second episode "The Target" or anything afterwards, because the show truly does pick up the pace.
