This just occurred to me regarding the recent events in BSG:
I have this sick feeling that perhaps Athena isn't going to make it in the end. How else would you explain another Eight accessing her memories? Also this is how our Eight became Athena in the first place; she accessed Boomer's memories, Boomer turned out to shoot Adama and then in turn was killed. Just like how Athena shot Natalie. This really takes the "all this has happened before" prophecy to another level entirely. Also given the fact that the resurrection hub has been destroyed, if Athena dies under any kind of circumstance she won't be returning. It was hell for Helo to do it once back in S3, but to have her permenantly gone for good? Heartbreaking, man. So if what I predict is true, what I hope to the Gods it isn't, that means this Eight that acquired Athena's memories will become the surrogate mother to Hera and wife to Helo, which is kind of creepy. But judging from the last episode it seems that this Eight doesn't like what happened with him obeying Roslin's orders, and her trust with the humans is being questioned. So, I honestly don't know what this means; if I'm right in my predictions or if this leads to something else entirely.
I also have thoughts about who the dying leader is supposed to be. In all honesty, I say it's Baltar. He's known about the opera house since the first season, and there's this whole connection between him, Six and Hera and everything being his destiny. I'm still holding out on who the final Cylon is, because at this rate it could be anybody. I would even say Baltar is a likely candidate although it was denounced back in S3, though I'd say it's more likely the last Cylon is someone else while Baltar remains close to his destiny.
And judging from the preview for tomorrow's episode, it looks like Roslin and D'Anna are on a planet surface. Supposedly Earth, or that's what we're meant to think of it as. I say it's either a dream/vision or a projection of some kind.
See? This is what happens when I start thinking way too much, considering that tomorrow is the mid-season finale until MOTHERFRAKKING 2009, WHAT THE FRAK PEEPS! So we're going to have to wait that long until the Final Cylon is revealed, until they reach Earth, before we know what's going to happen to all these characters, and you just KNOW this is going to be a killer cliffhanger to leave us going OMGWTF. Le sigh, another one of those long-ass hiatuses that we just love, don't we?
In other news, Alona Tal is the adorablest thing ever! Like that's a surprise. ♥
I've been reading and watching the reports back from the SPN Dallas convention from this past weekend, and this makes me really envious for never going to any sort of con featuring these people. There are such fine bunch of respectable and entertaining actors, willing to accept, and even endorse, the amounts of fangirling craziness thrown at them. Just the way they respond to the fans in general, how they seem so approachable is remarkable in its own way. Jared Padalecki is the biggest goofball and sweetheart you'll ever see, Jim Beaver is awesomely hilarious, and Alona Tal is the cutest little thing ever. You can tell that they really like being part of these conventions, especially Jared and Jensen, which is nice because actors who don't like going to those kinds of events are most likely to be unenthusiastic and bored about the whole thing. Not these people. They really appreciate their fanbase and it's such a lovely thing to see.
So we had the WGA strike, but now there's the predicted SAG strike which I seriously hope it doesn't happen and it'll be resolved before anything striking goes on. But if it does, I'm crossing my fingers that it won't take long. Because without actors, there are no productions in our television shows or films. Meaning Hollywood will be out of or lacking in the business, and I don't think they want that backlash.

Date: 2008-06-12 09:56 pm (UTC)I really want to go to a Heroes con but I don't have the time, money, or a passport to go to any of the ones that will have the actors as guests. If only they were at a Chicago one then I can make the excuse to go for a weekend.
The SAG strike won't take as long to resolve since the studios will start losing money as soon as the actors go to the picket lines.

Date: 2008-06-12 10:20 pm (UTC)Yeah, that's the main problem with me too. If I would I could, but lacking with finding the time or having enough money for any trips I just can't. Of course I'm also wary because as much as I would love to go to these cons, I'm frightened by the insanity level of some fans, which I can't deal with.
That's my prediction as well, because nobody wants to go through what happened with the previous strike.

Date: 2008-06-13 01:04 am (UTC)I love them so much for how they are so cool about their fans, not many fandoms have lead actors who are that willing to come and hang with them and have fun with them. Its one of my fav things about the spn cast how awesome they are outside the show! Cons are soo fun!
I cant take another strike gah!!!
