It's now or never, people.
Feb. 8th, 2008 01:51 pmFirst of all, anyone that says that the strike is over has got their information backwards. It is NOT OVER, at least not yet. Please don't believe what others are spouting off, especially Michael Eisner says (and I mean, really, you wanna believe Eisner of all people?) The writers are going to meet this weekend to vote on deals and agreements, and then sometime after that will this particular meeting determine the fate of the strike. Again, please do not believe the hype surrounding those who say it is over. It isn't over until someone or reliable sources, like the president of the WGA for example, says it is over; even then, it still won't be all fine and dandy and everything will return the way it was. Just like what Joss Whedon said, there are still bitter feelings and you can't just flip on the emotions like a switch once a deal has been made. Don't give up hope people, just don't believe everything you hear unless it's 100% confirmed straight from the horse's mouth.
I have yet to watch this week's TSCC yet, and I've kind of missed some of House's return. But I have seen some spoilers and, um Wilson is dating Cutthroat Bitch? House/Wilson are nearing canon that it isn't even funny? What kind of magical crack were spiked into the writer's coffee right before the strike took place? Seriously. Oh, and the Jon/Stephen/Conan late night crossover battle: MADE OF WIN.
Loved last night's SPN episode, and what makes everything even better? Is watching Jared and Jensen interviews. They are so adorable. I especially liked the one where Jared is on Ellen, an old taping of the show mind you, but he's retelling his "near death experience" and all that. Cracks me up every time.
You know when I was driving myself crazy when I thought I saw that Mohinder ad? Well, lo and behold! It's an additional project where you can study your dreams, redirecting fans to the Activating Evolution site. I think it's very cute...though making me really craving that Mohinder was someone real so I can contact him and go to his lectures and whatnotand totally would not be a stalker, nope. Hee.

Date: 2008-02-09 06:57 am (UTC)*giggles stupidly* . *louder* . God, I saw that. He's so fricken adorable. And genuinely funny. So many people, you really have to zonk into to "get" them. I get that kid. Most other people I show him to seem to feel the same way. I love how Ellen just goads him on. She is made up of so much awesome.
I haven't gotten to that many 'Heroes' episodes yet, but since falling head over heels for miss Hayden, I'm wanting to watch it all the time. (I wish I could find time to watch it!) Mohinder is cool, and I just love that ad of his. I've always been fascinated by the indiviuality of both dreams and handwriting. Always wanted to analyze both to death but in a way that didn't remove all of the mystery of them. Not sure how that would be possible. Improbable goals. :P
Thank you for the info on the writer's strike. I was confused -- people are all over the place about what's happening. I feel less confused now, though just as anxious about it as ever. But as a writer, I'm willing to sacrifice new episodes in order for them to get what they've earned and what truly is their right.
Ahh, so glad I found time to devour an entry of yours! *snuggle hugs*

Date: 2008-02-09 11:36 pm (UTC)Definitely. I know some weren't behind the strike based on the assumption that it was pointless to even begin with, or even selfish, but I highly disagree. Yes there have been sacrifices but you have to be willing to take that chance when fighting for something you believe in. There was ongoing debate on whether the rumors of it being over last week were true or false, and I think the truth in that was there was possibilities of a deal being made on both sides, but the strike wasn't necessarily over quite yet. Oh! And recently the WGA president announces the deal between the writers and producers (http://unitedhollywood.blogspot.com/2008/02/letter-from-presidents-with-deal.html), in case you want to check it out. It's all official-like, so nothing unreliable like before. :)
Girl, let me tell you, Heroes is awesome, and whenever you get a chance to watch it you won't be disappointed. They do touch on the subject of dreams and destiny quite a lot on the show, how everything and everyone is connected. If you love analyzing you'll love Heroes. Believe me, I spend so much time with conducting theories about this fandom it's not even funny. Mohinder is most certainly awesome, but that's my biased opinion since I love the gorgeous man. *swoons*
I agree with you about Hayden, she's simply adorable and such a great role model for young girls, which is kind of rare right now with some starlets in the spotlight.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, m'dear! *gathers hugs*

Oh yes, yes. In collecting pictures of her recently, I took special note of an interview in which they were saying, "We have to keep reminding ourselves that she's still a teenager." Her aura seems to span far past her age in such appropriate ways. But then I love when she'll just be eighteen here and there -- licking the Stanley Cup, etc. "I love to lick." She's adorable. I adore her. She sparkles and radiates, and I squeal as though I'm still a teenager whenever her Neutrogena commercial comes on the TV.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, m'dear!
I'm only sorry I don't have the time to comment on your every gorgeous entry, darling. You make me fall in love with all in this world you enjoy. It's an amazing thing about you that I know I'm not the only one to be aware of.

Date: 2008-02-10 09:31 pm (UTC)Hayden's certainly wise beyond her years, much more mature than many her age, and that's what I love about her. She can be silly and goofy, but she takes her work seriously. She's been in this business for a long time, and certainly she's had the support of her family to really keep her grounded -- and now with the Heroes cast they are like her family, especially with the men that she refers to as her "many fathers" and "big brothers"
although not so much with Milo since she's dating him now, he's more her Bodyguard Boyfriend XDI also love reading her interviews, because she knows what she's talking about and is really just awesome.
*blushes* Thank you for the adoring comment, you just made my day even better sweetie. *hugs*

Date: 2008-02-20 12:49 am (UTC)*gigglesome grins* I went and watched those behind-the-scenes videos on YouTube that you told me about. Big kids is possibly the very best way to describe them. What force on this earth could stop us from adoring these two boys?
...and now with the Heroes cast they are like her family, especially with the men that she refers to as her "many fathers" and "big brothers"
although not so much with Milo since she's dating him now, he's more her Bodyguard Boyfriend XDAh. So another of my girls falls under Milo's spell. What is it with that kid? I wish I could find a way to see beyond his 'Gilmore Girls' character and love him, the way everyone else of my gender obviously does.
I think it's sweet what Hayden says about her castmates. Though she's the shining hero for me, I do enjoy the emsemble the entire cast creates together. It's an extroardinary show.

Date: 2008-02-20 01:31 am (UTC)Admittingly I didn't like Milo's character on Gilmore Girls either, but I think I mentioned before that I didn't even recognize him when Heroes premiered. So different from the Jess character. Though I'm not attracted to him like other fangirls are, I do think he has a great sense of characterization for his roles and does a fantastic job in whatever role he does. Oh, and his chemistry is wonderful, especially with Hayden and Adrian Pasdar.
Have you started watching Heroes yet? I forget if you have or haven't, because that way we'll be having another fandom to chat about. And we won't be getting new episodes until the fall, so if you catch up it'll be awesome! :D

Yes! Yes, I have! Though... *hides face shamefully* ...I've only seen two episodes so far. I'm officially making it my mission to get caught up on all my shows by the beginning of June. It certainly sounds more fun than any of those stupid New Year's Resolutions I tried to make for myself -- hee. :P
