Today is basically my day of lounging, since I'm avoiding going out for shopping or otherwise. It was already preplanned due to it being Black Friday, and after watching several news segments this morning of people rushing into stores and malls as they opened, crowding and overflowing the aisles for those special sales, I was glad to not have ventured out today. Of course more power to those who were adventurous and risked going out on this Black Friday; you all have the bravery and guts, for I personally cannot stand the crowds and insanity.

It's time for a fandom meme, taken from [livejournal.com profile] snowfire:

Let's admit it: sometimes fandom is a scary place. Often, actually. All the time. And sometimes don't you just look at fandom's most popular opinions and go "-the fuck?" Now's the time to come clean with your unpopular opinions. It's good for the soul. Here's how it works:

1.) Post this up on your journal.
2.) Your friends will comment with some of your fandoms.
3.) In a new post (or in comments) respond back with one or two of your unpopular opinions for that fandom. (Ex: I love Lana! I don't care about previous seasons of Doctor Who! Teddy Dunn is teh_best actor evar!)
4.) Tag some friends.

I'm not tagging people; anyone is free to do this meme if they choose to. Now come on, my lovely peeps, give me one of my favorite fandoms to give my unpopular opinions about, any at all.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer:

1. I liked Dawn's character since the beginning. I never could fathom why others didn't, since her childish and whiny behavior was normal and appropriate for someone her age. She was not only a teenager, but the younger sister of the Slayer who always got praise for saving the world plus finding out she wasn't real at all, just a Key. So you would expect bitterness. I actually identified and emphasized with her on certain levels. Also, her maturing as the seasons went on really showed the growth of character development and I liked seeing that.

2. The fourth and sixth seasons I didn't really favor much. They had good episodes here and there and some vital things happening that I liked, but overall I think it could've done a little better with the overall plotlines (e.g. the Initiative, the depressive-angsty state Buffy was in, etc.)

3. I have this love/hate thing with the Spike/Buffy relationship. It's hard to describe, but they had moments where I thought they were cute but moments where it wasn't so cute. In the end, I'm still a Angel/Buffy person at heart (with some Faith/Buffy on the side, of course).

4. I could've liked Kennedy, if only she didn't get involved with Willow.

Angel:

1. After all the seasons, the one character I'll ever truly miss is Doyle. I liked that in the final season, Cordelia appeared and rewatched the tape with Doyle on it, sort of reliving those Golden Days of Angel Investigations and how they used to be.

2. Connor may have been emo!angsty, but I thought it suited him. I honestly don't know why.

3. I will always love the character of Cordelia, no matter what version she appears in (even though I prefer the earlier seasons to the later ones). Her character growth showed much development after teaming up with Angel, and I only wish she hadn't died because she could've provided lots of things to them. Though in "You're Welcome" it was a touching thing. But I don't like the Angel/Cordelia pairing thing, as I will always be for Xander/Cordelia in canon.

4. Fred I liked, but Illyria rocked hardcore.
