Fanvid Friday: Sara Lance (Arrow / Legends of Tomorrow)

My Comments: While I never fully watched Arrow or Legends of Tomorrow, Sara Lance became kind of my favorite character simply from her presence and story alone. A former assassin, Sara has gone through and endured so many things and had to fight her way to surviving, even after being killed she was resurrected and had to find a way of coping with how she came back different. She went from a killer hiding in the shadows to a hero and leader who travels through time. While this fanvid mostly focuses on her leading role in Legends of Tomorrow, a show I only watched the first two seasons of and didn't really get further into that because I lost interest, I think the vidder did a good job with giving an overview of her journey and being the survivor that she is. Plus the song and the fast editing is a good choice, as well.

I know she came back to life later, but I was extremely pissed at her death in Arrow. After that, the only CW show I was still watching was The 100 and we know where that went... ... ... I haven't watched anything on the CW since then and I can't say I miss it.

Yeah, I remember when Sara died many fans were furious, and rightfully so. Sara was a fan favorite, iirc, and that was such a massive blow. While I'm glad that they brought her back, especially since it did have lasting consequences via the bloodlust and her journey of being reformed and remaking herself, unfortunately this was a common thing since they later permanently killed off Laurel, and while there was Earth-2 Laurel that appeared it still wasn't the same. :/

I've also never fully watched either, but LoT always had that distinctive taste to it compared to the other DC CW shows. I think I actually only have seen the first episode of this series, and the only reason was that I was surprised to see the actor who played Rory in Doctor Who was a leader in this (or was supposed to be? I'm not sure, it's been a really long time). I love shows that travel in time -- especially back in time -- and whenever I saw something from this show, it always looked so much fun. That's why I want to start it sometime, and also because only recently I've found out that Constantine also was a part of the team for a while!

Yes he was, he was responsible for recruiting all of the characters together at the beginning of the show and does play a major role, at least in the first two seasons that I saw of it anyway. Him and Sara were the only reasons why I wanted to check out the show, too, because I also knew him mainly as Rory and was intrigued on seeing him in kind of a Doctor-type role as Rip Hunter in LoT.

While I lost interest in the show, they certainly seemed to embrace and relish in the ridiculousness of time travel shenanigans particularly in the later seasons.

I never watched all seasons of either series. I only have so much interest in superheroes, but I did love her character (and many others too!). Sometimes I feel like I am missing out of a lot of good stuff because I lose interesting in superhero stories so fast.

I know what you mean. I know the phrase "superhero fatigue" has been thrown around a lot, and it's not so much that as just feeling overwhelmed by the entire multiverse interconnectivity that makes you feel like you have to keep up with everything. That's kind of why I tend to lose interest, since it feels like they have to connect everything together. I don't mind individual superhero stories that exist in the same universe as other things but stand on their own, though.
