++ I've been rather lazy lately, just the general lethargic feeling despite actually wanting to do certain things yet lacking the energy to do so. Never mind that we're heading into a week of an intense heat wave, which isn't going to help matters either. Yay. :/

++ So, while it didn't interest me in the slightest and I have no context of what happens in the show, but seeing one specific thing from The Acolyte gave me brief pause of vague intrigue.

Manny Jacinto as a Sith was something I didn't think I needed until I saw the gifsets, and then of course I watched the fight scene from that episode where his identity is revealed and I have to say that was such a great thing to witness. Again, I have no context and most likely won't be watching it but watching that scene made me appreciate the fight choreography, the way the lightsabers are wielded and the effects of showing how they are powered on and off (especially if they are disabled in some way, sparks flying and the saber glitching), how the kills while bloodless were still ruthless and brutal. And obviously Manny Jacinto as a Sith, not only was that helmet design metal as fuck but he was just so, woof. I'm intrigued by whatever his deal is.

So yeah, while my interest in Star Wars has mostly been casual (the last thing I was into was The Mandalorian but that waned significantly where I'm barely interested anymore), and I doubt I'll get into this one but this part of it? Oh yeah.

++ Meet You At The Blossom is an upcoming wuxia BL that will premiere July 11th. It's a danmei adaptation, filmed in China, and is a Thailand production, which explains how this even happened and will be airing at all. Additionally, Battle of the Writers, premiering July 29th, is another Thai BL adapted from a Chinese danmei, which also features some wuxia.

With the way things have been going with censorship law China making any adaptation of danmei being released or made difficult, this is the kind of loophole I want to see more of. It's a shame we may never see things like the live-adaptations of The Husky and His White Cat Shizun or Heaven Official's Blessing or Sha Po Lang that have already been filmed and have long awaited being released for years unless they are properly leaked (like The Spirealm recently was), and I'm not going to pretend to be knowledgeable on how any of the behind-the-scenes negotiations and legalities of distribution rights work over there. I'm just going to say that I'm grateful that we're getting this at all, and hopefully we'll see more of this in the future.

Yeah, I definitely know him the best from The Good Place...and from what I'm seeing, this character is VERY different, so that is awesome for him :D
