Happy Pride. ❤
Jun. 25th, 2024 02:50 pm++ Thailand has recently celebrated the Senate approving historic bill accepting the legalization of gay marriage, something that has been regularly reported for some time but it has been made official. Seeing many pictures and videos of people celebrating during Pride has been incredibly heartwarming. ❤
++ I've been watching, and catching up, on the Thai GL drama, 23.5 Degrees, and while I haven't finished yet I've been really enjoying it.
I mainly ended up wanting to watch this because of the character of Aylin, who I immediately was like "that one, that one is going to be my favorite character" and I was right. She just speaks to me, and I see a lot of myself in her in certain ways. I like that she's unafraid of being herself, but there's also that insecurity of being judged by others because of that weirdness and in order to not be vulnerable she places this barrier between herself and others. I like that it's contradictory, that despite distancing herself from other people by essentially considering herself an alien and refers to other people as "Human [their name/title]" and makes bold statements about not caring what other people think she is still hurting inside. While I didn't go that route myself, I understand Aylin. Being made fun of for something you have a deep interest in hurts, so her saying that humans are mean and that aliens are her only friends, I understood precisely what she meant.
Of course there are other aspects of the drama that I like, such as the other characters, the developing relationships and couples, but I think Aylin is perhaps my favorite aspect of the drama.
I don't have any other deeper thoughts at the moment. It's just a cute series.
++ The full trailer for URANUS 2324 was released not too long ago. It's a Thai GL science fiction film that is to be in Thai cinemas on July 4th, and just from the looks of it I'm enthralled. It appears to be a love story that transcends and defies the universe and multiverse. I've seen some excitement for it because it stars Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong, the same two actresses who starred in GAP: The Series (which I know of but haven't seen yet), and this being of the scifi genre it'll definitely show more of their talent and chemistry together. I'm intrigued, to say the least.
