My Current Fandom Status

Over the last few years I've fallen deep into watching Asian dramas, as those who have been following me for a while will know quite well by now. It started in 2020 with getting into The Untamed and it just spiraled from there, mainly cdramas but also kdramas and jdramas along with an interest in some thaidramas, as well. From this I also ended up discovering some novels these dramas were based off of, mostly of the danmei variety. That's been kind of my main fandom obsession for a while now, and with all the dramas that I have already watched and the ones that have become my favorites, there is still a long, long list of others waiting for me to check out. It's just endless, which I am grateful for because there's just so much to dive into. I'm happy to have found plenty of fans in that particular fandom community, both here on DW and on Tumblr, where I have been getting all these discoveries simply with people posting about them that I wouldn't have known about otherwise.

Aside from that, at the moment I'm very much into The Last Of Us, I adore the games and seeing it adapted as a television show has been incredible so far, never mind the resurgence of the interest in the story with both newer and older fans alike. I've also still quite into Critical Role (+ The Legend of Vox Machina) and most recently Dimension 20/dropout.tv for my TTRPG fix.

But don't worry, I still revisit my older fandoms quite often. I will sometimes do a spontaneous meme or post talking about an older fandom of mine, if the inspiration strikes, or will happily squee with others about them. I like writing up recommendation posts, or just posts talking about whatever fandom I cannot stop thinking about and need to get my thoughts out there.

I'm happy to have found plenty of fans in that particular fandom community, both here on DW and on Tumblr, where I have been getting all these discoveries simply with people posting about them that I wouldn't have known about otherwise.

THE LAST OF US! I'll be making a disogranized squee post about it one of these days because it's been 4-ish days since I watched the first 5 episodes (and currently watching the 6th) and I'm loving it so SO MUCH. ♡♡♡

Also I have a thing for checking out other people's "current music", and what a fun song this one was! :D

I'll be giving my thoughts on the first season once it has finished, but trust me, I have a lot of thoughts, mostly positive and of the squee variety as well. So far I'm really enjoying what they've done so far, even the changes they made from the game manage to still be as engaging and add so much more emotional depth to the characters and the story, which is saying a lot because the game already had that and the show managed to just amplify it even more. But I'll go further into that in my overall review.

Also I have a thing for checking out other people's "current music", and what a fun song this one was! :D

Oh, I'm glad you liked it! I've been a fan of hers for a long time.

I need to watch The Last of Us eventually and also The Legend of Vox Machina - I've had both recommended so strongly recently.

God, yes. The Last Of Us is so good, like it's emotionally devastating and you will need tissues so fair warning for that, but it's just so, so good, and so far quite a satisfactory adaptation of the game. And The Legend of Vox Machina is just plain fun, it condenses the first campaign of Critical Role tremendously, which they have to of course, but still entertaining nonetheless.
