++ Current events: there's nothing really I can say that hasn't already been more articulately said by others, so I'll just leave it at this: I hate it here, I'm just so exhausted. :(

++ In happier news, despite initial reports a little while ago that they weren't doing so, Seven Seas Entertainment has finally announced that they voluntarily recognized the unionization of their workers. This makes me relieved, it's definitely the right decision, obviously. I know some were concerned about what was going to happen if they didn't recognize the worker's unionizing, but I'm glad that they did in the end.

++ It has been brought to my attention that this year marks the ten year anniversary of Welcome To Night Vale, which is such a massive milestone for a little podcast of a fictional radio show. I remember when I first heard about it. It was, I believe some months after it had premiered and a good chunk of episodes were already out and available to listen to, and people on Tumblr were raving about it (that's how it rose in popularity in the first place, from the Tumblr fandom community at the time) and from some of the descriptions it made me curious enough to check it out. And I have to say, it was unique because I hadn't really listened to much of podcasts. I mean, there were discussion podcasts that I had listened to in the past, but not fictional podcasts. Welcome To Night Vale was very different in its structure and manner of storytelling in a way I hadn't heard before, and I could understand why people were praising it since it wove an intriguing mythos throughout and it made your curious about the strange occurrences in this bizarre fictional town of Night Vale, and get attached to the characters that appear along the way. It also would give you an existential crisis every now and again, the profound messages and dialogue given in episodes could really make you go, "whoa", a lot of the time. People still pass around numerous WTNV quotes today even if they've never once listened to the podcast because, let's be honest, some of them can range from being hilarious to downright metal as fuck. Just another beautiful aspect of the show.

So, happy tenth anniversary, Welcome To Night Vale. ❤ I may have drifted away from you over the years, not out of disinterest but simply because I would get distracted by other things, but every time I would come back to check-in on things or even revisit older episodes you remind me precisely why I enjoyed listening in the first place. Thank you for providing such beautiful storytelling, and may you provide much more. :)

Germany abolished §219a a couple of hours before the news from the US came out. I was so happy that we're taking a step in the right direction. At the same time, the US took more than ten steps back :(

WTNV was my gateway drug and I’m so happy I started with it back in… 2014?

We're alive and WTNV are the two giants that have done so much for the whole audiodrama community.

I'm late to reply and still exhausted. It feels like the news gets worse and worse every day.

I love a union forming and management recognizing it and realizing the world is shifting and (hopefully) worker's rights are becoming stronger again.

I haven't listening to Night Vale in a while but I'm happy they're out there and making the world a little more strange and a little more fun.
