Adventurers and hilarity.
Jan. 17th, 2022 12:03 pm++ First, we have official trailer for The Legend of Vox Machina, which premieres in January 28th, and it looks absolutely delightful! I'm still in awe that this is even something real, and that it's almost here! I cannot wait to see these beloved characters that I adored ever since I first started watching Critical Role in the middle of their first campaign, and seeing their tale be retold in animated form! At least, with a specific arc, an arc that I absolutely love and I cannot wait to see what is done with it in such a visual format. Moreover, I'm actually curious to see the thoughts of those who aren't familiar with Critical Role and these characters. It is a completely different medium to introduce people to this world, so that will be interesting indeed.
++ Secondly, an article was released not too long ago revealing that WarnerMedia and ViacomCBS are looking to sell the CW, with the now infamous line from it that claims that the network has never been profitable since its creation back in 2006. I know that there's a lot more to it on the business side of things, but you have to admit it is pretty funny, hence why so many people are using that specific line to take the piss out of the CW in general. It's not really new information that the CW is unique and has operated separately from other networks, shows can have incredibly low ratings that continue to dip yet still manage to get renewed, for example. (Although there were a handful of shows, at least in the beginning, that had decent enough ratings but were cancelled, mostly because the CW wasn't promoting them and figured they were expendable anyway.) Nevertheless, it is still pretty funny regardless.

Date: 2022-01-18 07:05 pm (UTC)Due to the popularity of Netflix, I was a bit confused by the "hasn't made a profit since 2006" line.
But yeah, I did chuckle at a lot of the posts about this I saw on my dash :D
