I was caught entirely by surprise by this, I didn't realize we would be getting a trailer for the fifth season of The Expanse, but it's here! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

This is gonna be one hell of a season, so much angst!

I haven't started reading the books yet so I don't know what happens in Nemesis Games, but I know, based on context clues from book fans that this is gonna be some heavy emotional shit, particularly in regards to Naomi and her storyline with Marco Inaros and her son, and we're going to be getting more Amos backstory, definitely taken from the novella, The Churn. Otherwise, I know nothing else and that makes me excited because this trailer has me so hyped! Seeing their faces again, Drummer and Bobbie and Avasarala and Fred Johnson, it makes me so, so, happy!

(Also worth noting that it seems that the trailer did lessen the appearance of Alex, considering what happened earlier with the reveal of the actor being not a good person, and while I haven't heard any news in regards to what they're planning on doing about I'm at least hoping that it doesn't lessen seeing Bobbie's face because it seems like she is sharing a lot of her scenes with Alex this season.)


Overall, it's nice to have something to look forward to in this shitstorm of a year.

I'm super excited to get some Amos backstory! That looks promising.

Hopefully Bobbie's screentime won't get cut short :(

I'm not sure how I feel about the weekly release schedule though. For The Boys it doesn't really work for me, but apparently they are successful with it? I watch The Expanse with my mother though, so we are slower anyway.

I actually like the weekly release, to be honest. I don't know if that was the plan initially, but considering that there hasn't been much new content due to the pandemic I think spacing it out will be a good choice. I mean, Disney+ released The Mandalorian weekly and people thought that to have been a weird choice initially especially for a streaming service, but it worked out well and was much preferred. So I think this will work out fine for The Expanse, especially if it gives it more time to be talked about among the fandom/online spaces episode by episode, giving it more hype.

As a whole, I go back and forth when it comes to streaming services dropping entire seasons all in one go, because with some things I can watch back-to-back while others I need time with.

I think it really depends on the show. With the Mandalorian I didn't mind at all and probably enjoyed the show even more that way. Maybe it's just a show like The Boys working better this way. The Witcher would probably also be fine on a weekly schedule.

This trailer is so epic,I got goosebumps. So much Drummer and they are going full 'Broken baby bird' on us with the Amos storyline and it will probably wreck me!

I've rewatched the trailer several times now and I still get chills, it has quite an ominous tone to it, and I'm loving it. I'm ready for the angst and emotional drama. I'm ready, and I cannot wait! :D

It's such a good show, perhaps my top favorite scifi shows ever tbh, and based on what I hear from others this is really getting into some meaty parts of the plot from the books, so I'm definitely very excited.

Definitely do! I love it so much, and I've been very happy seeing more people get into it. I wish it had a much bigger online fandom, though, but seeing more people get introduced to it and binge-watch it (esp during this year) has been nice to see nonetheless. :)
