++ We officially have the Hamilton trailer, which it will be dropping on Disney+ on July 3rd. I am so excited for this, and watching the trailer actually gave me chills.

++ A full trailer for The Babysitters Club on Netflix was released the other day, as well. I have to say, it looks so cute! First, I'm glad that there's age appropriate casting, because as much as I loved the 90s television show and the movie they obviously didn't capture the fact that these were literally twelve/thirteen-year-olds, whereas here there is no question because of how young they all are. Second, someone else pointed it out and it's true, that the trailer is practically every second chapter of every BSC book, which I don't know if it was intentional or not but it's still hilarious nonetheless. It's being set in modern day, which in itself isn't bad, though I'm kind of bummed they didn't set it at least in the 90s, considering that Netflix has the 80s nostalgia with Stranger Things this would've been a great opportunity to go full-on 90s nostalgia, especially with Alicia Silverstone being in it. But that's just my opinion. Either way, I really liked the feeling of this trailer, it's just really adorable.

And that's the overly cheesy BSC I know and love! I mean, so so cheesy. But also adorbs.

I also kinda wish the show had been set in the 90's. On the other hand, maybe they sort of felt Netflix had been overloaded on nostalgia? Still, I think that would've been a fun twist.

I also noticed that! LOL. I bet it was intentional. The second chapter was kinda iconic for that. The chapter you could always skip.

Either way, I'm pretty excited. I was obsessed with those books.

Definitely cheesy, but in a feel-good kind of way, which is the point. It made me smile. And the cast all looks so adorable. I think that, no matter what era they were going with, as long as they keep with the spirit of the books about this being about the friendship of these group of girls then it's all good. :)

I remember learning about divorce through BSC, so when my parents ended up getting divorced I understood what that meant.

That's why I still read the books in middle school. Sure, by middle school I had outgrown them in terms of reading level and maturity, but they were the sweet fluff I needed. :)

The cast does look adorable! And like thirteen year olds.

My aunt was divorced so I knew what it meant, but I think it helped me understand it from the kid's POV. As well as some struggles single parents faced. I also learned about diabetes, although the books have so many misconceptions about it.

I remember when it was announced, I was apprehensive at first because I didn't know what it would be like. But now after seeing the trailer I'm absolutely sold on it. It looks cute and very appropriate for the target demographic that the books are aimed towards. :)

I'm so excited to see the show again! This time with the original cast! The trailer looked amazing.

I'm also happy about The Babysitter's Club. I loved those books when I was a kid and the series looks like they're going to get it right :) Although you're right that they could have gone for the 90's era with it. The retro phone in the trailer made it look like they may at least have some easter eggs in there.

Yeah, I remember when the teaser dropped and they had the retro phone and it was like very strange since it was in current times, but this trailer makes it make sense. And it's more likely to be callbacks and paying homage to the books by bringing in those elements here and there. Either way, it looks super cute and very age appropriate.
