For those who want to help during this time, but have no money to do so, by streaming this video without adblock or skipping any ads (and without pausing and having the volume up at least 50%) your view count will help provide, through AdSense, the means of donations to go towards the appropriate BLM organizations and associations. Please pass along and share this link with others to do the same. In the video description are also links to various petitions to sign, as well.

I know many are feeling overwhelmed with everything that's been happening, the feeling of anger and frustration and helplessness and utter disgust in the face of such brutal injustice and racial discrimination, and the frightening reality that those in charge aren't doing anything to stop or protect others but further perpetuate this state of fear and racial injustice towards black lives, but please don't feel discouraged from doing something. Every little thing still counts as an act of protest even if you're not doing so from the streets, from signing petitions to donations to even streaming the video above. Keep sharing any legitimate links you find, and keep talking about it.

Stay safe everyone. ❤

Thank you for the link. My volume is being weird so I'm missing some of it as far as sound goes, but "Get Your Hands Off My Neck" is heartbreaking. ]

It is an overwhelming time. I'm tired. And angry. A distant relative of mine posted an American flag with a thin blue line, and how dare she? How DARE she? I don't want to see that thin blue line anywhere, especially not on an American flag, especially not now. Right now, it is clearly taking a stand. Even if you voted for Trump, which I already have a lot of issues with, it should go without saying that putting your knee on a man's neck and killing him IS WRONG. Yet in my view, by saying you support the cops right now, you are taking a side. You are saying that George Floyd got what he deserved. Are you kidding me?

I'm sorry, it just makes me so angry. I'm actually teary with rage just thinking about that post. I know no one wants my white tears. But these aren't soft tears of disbelief, I'm mad. As hell.

There's also a whole bunch of rules that people have posted in the comments to make sure your view counts. Like not pausing it, making sure volume is on and at least 50% (even if you have earphones plugged in and don't listen). I can't remember what they all are, but people had them through the comment section yesterday so they're probably still there.

Thank you for the heads up on that information. I added it into the post. I have no knowledge about what does or doesn't count as a view on videos, especially towards getting something monetized, so even if it doesn't necessarily matter at least it won't hurt.

It's okay to be angry. You should be angry.

I've seen those same old song-and-dance from people who are doing the whole "not all cops are bad" thin blue line nonsense, and it's truly unbelievable at their willful ignorance. This country unfortunately has a huge issue in regards to this false pretense of patriotism surrounding the police (and the military), and it's so ingrained into our culture that most don't see anything wrong with it and will blindly defend them even when something is seriously wrong with the system. Because that's what this is about. It's about the long, ugly history of systematic and institutionalized racism and oppression which is why these protests are happening. Which is why we're sick and tired of having to mourn and be angry about yet another unjust and cruel murder of an unarmed black person simply for merely existing. It's not about "good cops" or "bad cops", because the entire system is corrupt and they all fall underneath it, the "bad" ones will be more noticeable but the so-called "good" ones will stand by and do nothing, thereby being complicit and are just as bad. It's all police brutality, no matter which way you look at it.

I have many thoughts on this, and quite frankly I'm getting worked up just typing all of this out. But it needs to be said. And those who don't get it, well, I hope that they eventually will but some will just don't care one way or another because they want to stay ignorant, because they don't want to change the way they think, don't want to educate themselves for whatever reason. And that's sad.

(With that being said, I heard that all the cops present for Floyd's murder were charged and that the main one has gone from third-degree to second-degree murder. So, that's something. I just hope that they're all properly punished, otherwise there will be more outrage and protests. I mean, again I don't have much faith in the justice system, but like I mentioned previously I hope that I'm wrong and we'll actually see justice being served.)

I have no idea either, to be honest some of the things seemed too far-fetched to be true. Having to censor the word "Streaming" for instance. But, better safe than sorry I guess

Not entirely. I watch enough YouTubers and YouTube in general to know that the algorithm is pretty whacked, and many videos have been demonetized for the weirdest things so they will have to censor things or come up with creative alternatives to bypass the system. Sometimes ridiculous things like saying the word or phrase (recently if you mentioned "coronavirus" would end up getting your video demonetized, though that was early on so idk if that has changed since then), and other times for more serious things, like there was an issue a while back about LGBT content being demonetized. So it's not entirely improbable that the same thing might happen, especially for something like this.

Either way, it's definitely better to be safe than sorry if it means helping out in any way.

That is intense, until a couple days ago I never would have guessed that it was that hard to make sure the views counted so they could get their money.

Yeah, it's quite a fickle system, which is always unpredictable and quite selective, often in unfair ways. That's why many will find alternative ways of making money through the site in case their videos get demonetized (ex: selling merch, accepting sponsorships, etc). However with videos like the one linked above, they have to rely solely on add rolls to achieve their goal, which isn't always easy if people aren't aware of how it all works.
