I wanted to share an awesome fanvid for The Expanse's fourth season. It's a fanmade trailer made by the same person who did a fan trailer for the series (S1-S3) as a contribution to the fan campaign which was then followed by The Expanse Lives revival fanvid that got recognized throughout the fandom to celebrate the show being saved (and the original music mix from the latter was even used for the official S4 trailer!), and in general they make incredible vids that are great unofficial promotional material for the show. Watching this one just makes me want to rewatch S4 all over again. I don't think it's spoilery? It doesn't give anything big away from the season, as far as I can tell, but just in case mild spoiler warning should be applied anyway.

I just really love this show. I loved season four, and I cannot wait for season five. ❤

Not just visually, flexing that Amazon money and all (and rightfully so), but the story and acting itself was absolutely phenomenal. Season five cannot come fast enough. :)

It's such good scifi, like I've watched science fiction shows that I've enjoyed, but this is just on another level. It's just damn good storytelling and I love every moment of it. I hope you'll be able to get to watching it sooner than later. :)

And homg, yes - love this show *so much*. It's what space opera SHOULD be. I wish there was more sci-fi like this, instead of all the crap that's generally churned out.

Cannot wait for season five. I'm finally caught up on all the published books, too, and HOLY GODS. Can't wait for the final book. :D

There's been some scifi shows in recent years that I've enjoyed because they were fun and entertaining, but there really hasn't really been an epic space opera on such a scale like this since Battlestar Galactica. And I'm so happy that I discovered it, because it has filled that particular scifi hole in my heart and soul that has sorely been missing.

Aaaahhhhh! I can't wait to watch this. I've been telling the gf that we should start it because we both love BSG sooo much! And you've been saying so many amazing things about it that it makes me want to start right away.

What happened to it, though? Was it ever in danger? :O

Seriously, you need to get on that. If you loved BSG, you'll definitely love this show. It's definitely quite an epic, so many amazing characters and fantastic storytelling. The first season is quite of a slow-burn, intentionally so since it's basically setup as kind of a space noir in a way, as well as setting up the world-building. But I love the first season for that reason, and it just gets better and better with each season.

What happened to it, though? Was it ever in danger? :O

Syfy cancelled the show after three seasons, but fans came together to campaign for the show to get renewed, the campaign grew rather successful that Amazon ended up picking it up and saved it. This is, of course, an oversimplified version of the events that happened. Here's a overview of what happened (https://youtu.be/0u6El-kMgac), which is quite insightful. What it boils down to is the word of mouth from a dedicated and loyal fanbase and massive luck.
