HARRY POTTER

My favorite female character: Luna Lovegood, Cho Chang, Narcissa Malfoy
My favorite male character: Draco Malfoy
My favorite book/season/etc: Prisoner of Azkaban, because I just loved how it was so different from the rest of the series. It didn't deal directly with Voldemort, and it was the introduction to Sirius Black and Remus Lupin who I adore. It's also my favorite movie of the franchise, too.
My favorite cast member: Tom Felton, simply because even after years later after the films since he continues to go to conventions and still happily talk about the HP series. He clearly looks back at those years fondly and it's so great to see that kind of enthusiasm. I also love how engaged he is with the fans and the fandom, and how he doesn't look back at the years he was in this series with embarrassment but with pride. Most of the cast is like that, I think, since none of them look back at their HP days and regret it and will always be thankful for it being a part of their lives.
My favorite ship: Harry/Draco. My OTP. ❤
A character I’d die defending: Draco Malfoy, always. But also Cho Chang, because she got a lot of unjustified hate during the series that still is baffling to me, since she didn't do anything wrong.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Ron Weasley.
A character I grew to love: I guess it would probably be Cho Chang. I always felt uncomfortable with the hate she got, but it wasn't until after the series ended that I basically gained a whole new perspective of the character and I just grew to love her more and more. I also tend to have grown to love characters that weren't developed at all in the books that fandom has kind of took and created their own versions of, like Pansy Parkinson, for example. Idk if that counts or not, since these are more fanon versions than anything, but still.
My anti otp: Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny. I just never understood the appeal of either, to be honest. They just never made any sense to me.

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER

My favorite female character: Faith Lehane
My favorite male character: Rupert Giles
My favorite book/season/etc: Season three. It was the first season I started watching and being introduced to the show, so I have a soft spot for it in general. But it was also the introduction to my favorite character, Faith. S3 was just so well structured, the overall arc and the season finale remains probably one of the best finales the show has ever had, imho.
My favorite episode: That's difficult, considering how many seasons and episodes there are. On the top of my head, "Surprise"/"Innocence" and "Faith, Hope, and Trick" are just a few of the many favorite episodes I have with BTVS.
My favorite cast member: Eliza Dushku.
My favorite ship: Buffy/Faith. But I also loved Buffy/Angel, too.
A character I’d die defending: Dawn Summers. I never understood the hate she got, as it seemed rather excessive to me. I, personally, identified a lot with Dawn and certain things she was going through so seeing her character getting unjustly attacked simply for being a typical teenager and younger sister just makes me so angry on her behalf and I will forever defend her.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Xander Harris, Warren (obviously)
A character I grew to love: Cordelia Chase. I liked her character a lot while watching the show, but I came to really love and appreciate her character so much more over the years.
My anti otp: Spike/Buffy. I'll be honest, I liked the initial idea when it came about in the fifth season, but once they kinda became canon I despised it.

FIREFLY

My favorite female character: Inara Serra, River Tam, Kaylee Frye, Zoe Washburne
My favorite male character: Mal Reynolds
My favorite book/season/etc: I mean, it only has the one season, so. ;)
My favorite episode: This is tough, because with the limited amount of episodes I actually consider them all to be my favorite. But if we're to narrow it down to a single episode, probably "Safe". It gave a brief look into how Simon ended up searching for River, and I just loved that the entire focus of the episode was Simon and River, how far Simon is willing to go to save his sister, and them having already found a home with the crew aboard Serenity. "You're on my crew...why are we still talking about this?" Gets me every single time. :')
My favorite cast member: I would say the majority of them, to be honest. I really love how, whenever they get together, it's just a lovely reunion of them sharing stories that reliving the past and just still being friends with each other. It's all so great.
My favorite ship: Mal/Inara, Zoe/Wash, River/Simon, Inara/Kaylee, Inara/Simon...I have a lot of ships for this show, lol.
A character I’d die defending: All of them.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: ...I can't think of anyone?
A character I grew to love: Jayne. Upon first watching the show you think he's going to just be this big dumb macho guy, but then you start seeing that there's more to his character and that there are layers and I ended up loving him more and more.
My anti otp: River/Jayne.

I agree that Cho never really did anything wrong. I think she and Harry fell in love that an awkward time - both of them were messes emotionally.

I actually wish the books had let Cho remain a friend of Harry's, although I can see why she was more of a one-off character. (I feel that way about the DA in general, TBH.)

c: Season three. It was the first season I started watching and being introduced to the show, so I have a soft spot for it in general. But it was also the introduction to my favorite character, Faith. S3 was just so well structured, the overall arc and the season finale remains probably one of the best finales the show has ever had, imho.

I'm with you on all counts, although I wouldn't call Faith a favorite character (even though I do like that character). In fact, since I see the rest of the series as almost a different show (not even in a "not my canon" way, I just feel Buffy changed completely in purpose once it stopped being High School as Hell), I see the season three finale as a series finale of sorts. It really was just so perfect. And I think season three was a brilliant season.

Dawn Summers. I never understood the hate she got, as it seemed rather excessive to me. I, personally, identified a lot with Dawn and certain things she was going through so seeing her character getting unjustly attacked simply for being a typical teenager and younger sister just makes me so angry on her behalf and I will forever defend her.

I never understood the Dawn hate either! I didn't love her backstory, and she wasn't a favorite character by any stretch, but she wasn't as bad as people made her out to be. And as kind of the youngest child (not of siblings, but in my family) I related to her in certain ways as well.

My anti otp: Spike/Buffy. I'll be honest, I liked the initial idea when it came about in the fifth season, but once they kinda became canon I despised it.

Yeah, same. It was actually an interesting idea, it just... didn't work for me as it was executed.

That is exactly how I feel, as well. It was a nice way of closing one chapter before opening the next one to continue the story. I especially loved the last bit in the finale when Oz makes the observation that they survived, not the battle but high school, which is something we can all relate to once we graduate school. And then the last shot was the Sunnydale yearbook. It was very well done.

Yeah, same. It was actually an interesting idea, it just... didn't work for me as it was executed.

And fandom didn't help much in that department, either. The shipping wars got too intense and it just further put me off.

So much yes, esp on Faith, Faith/Buffy, Giles, S3.

I liked the idea of Spike/Buffy at first too. To enjoy the pairing now, I have to headcanon that most of their canon relationship didn't happen.

Keep in mind that I quit watching this show long ago, around the sixth season, so that is where most of my answers are going to be.

SUPERNATURAL

My favorite female character: Jo Harvelle, Ruby 1.0, Mary Winchester
My favorite male character: Castiel
My favorite book/season/etc: Season four. It was basically the season that I started getting really obsessed with the show, because I loved the introduction of not just Castiel but the entire angel storyline.
My favorite episode: "On The Head Of A Pin"
My favorite cast member: Misha Collins
My favorite ship: Dean/Castiel
A character I’d die defending: Castiel, Jo (she got a lot of hate despite the minimal amount of episodes she was in during S2, something I'll never understand and will forever defend her), Ruby 1.0 (she, too, also got a lot of hate when she first appeared). Also, John Winchester. Now he wasn't the best father and he made some poor decisions in regards to how to raise his sons, which is something to acknowledge since that is a huge character flaw of his that shouldn't be excused, but I always believed, despite all of that he was still trying his best considering the circumstances and the show did him so dirty even after giving the character a little bit of peace after the second season. So yeah.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: idk
A character I grew to love: idk
My anti otp: Sam/Dean and Dean/Lisa.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE

My favorite female character: Rosa Diaz
My favorite male character: Captain Holt
My favorite book/season/etc: All of the seasons? IDK, they all blur together for me, which kind of proves just how good this show is, lol. ;)
My favorite episode: Again, it all blurs, but most recently it's been the episodes where Rosa is coming out as bisexual. It was handled so beautifully and it was so emotional yet heartwarming at the same time, it was so great. That episode, and the episode where Jake proposes to Amy. That was super cute and sweet.
My favorite cast member: ALL OF THEM. DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE. THEY ARE ALL PRECIOUS.
My favorite ship: Jake/Amy, Holt and his husband.
A character I’d die defending: I mean, take your pick. lol
A character I just can’t sympathize with: I don't think there's anyone at the moment?
A character I grew to love: Boyle. I didn't like his obsession with Rosa in the very beginning, but thankfully he quickly grew out from that and now I really enjoy his character so, so much.
My anti otp: IDK?

LUKE CAGE

My favorite female character: Claire Temple, Misty Knight
My favorite male character: Luke Cage
My favorite episode: It's been a while but I'll say the pilot episode and the episode where Mariah kills Cottonmouth. Because that? I didn't see coming.
My favorite cast member: Rosario Dawson, Mike Colter
My favorite ship: I have to say that Shades/Mariah is a very interesting dynamic.
A character I’d die defending: Claire Temple
A character I just can’t sympathize with: I don't know, I guess Diamondback?
A character I grew to love: Mariah Dillard. There is just something so fascinating about her and as the season went on I was captivated by the amazing performance by the actress.
My anti otp: Luke/Claire. Listen, no hate because they're cute, but my OTP is Jessica/Luke and I'm hoping once the dust settles that those two crazy kids get back together in the future.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

My favorite female character: Katherine Pierce.
My favorite male character: Stefan
My favorite book/season/etc: Seasons 1 & 2, considering they were the only seasons I fully watched because I was warned about the other seasons, which I'm glad I avoided. S1 was a nice introduction to the story, it had a nice atmosphere and a great build-up, and S2 amped that up with giving us Katherine (a.k.a. my queen). I only sporadically watched some episodes of S3, but I did like that they introduced the Originals (Rebekah, especially).
My favorite episode: "Masquerade" and "Katerina"
My favorite cast member: Nina Dobrev
My favorite ship: Elena/Stefan
A character I’d die defending: Elena Gilbert. She surprisingly got a lot of hate from the fandom, which is quite baffling to me. I love Elena and I will defend her forever and ever.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Damon. Ugh.
A character I grew to love: Rebekah Mikaelson, who I grew to love even more on The Originals.
My anti otp: Damon/Elena.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

My favorite female character: Six (in all forms), Sharon "Athena" Agathon, Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, Kara Thrace, Kendra Shaw
My favorite male character: Karl "Helo" Agathon
My favorite book/season/etc: I loved all the seasons to be honest, but I think the season that was my favorite was probably S2. I just liked the way it was structured, the flow of it, I liked the progression of the story. If we're talking the additional stuff, I think Battlestar Galactica: Razor was probably my favorite telemovie that happened. Caprica being my favorite prequel, obviously.
My favorite episode: "Downloaded", which shouldn't be surprising knowing me and my love of the Cylons.
My favorite cast member: Tricia Helfer, Katee Sackhoff (and the close friendship that both Katee and Tricia have which is adorable), Grace Park, Tahmoh Penikett, James Callis, and Edward James Olmos.
My favorite ship: Six/Gaius, Helo/Athena, Sam/Kara
A character I’d die defending: Boomer. I feel like Boomer was a bit underappreciated after she was resurrected, granted we didn't see much of her character after that aside from brief moments here and there (her alliance with Caprica Six, the occupation on New Caprica, and so forth) so I do feel like she was rather underrepresented on the show in the later seasons. So I feel anytime someone comments on Boomer they just don't really think much of her or end up disliking her due to that, and I just defend her because I'm someone who loved her character from the beginning.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Cally, Helena Cain.
A character I grew to love: Gaius Baltar. When I started watching the show I wasn't sure what to make of him, but as time went on I basically ended up loving him. He's such a fantastically deeply flawed character that makes him probably the most human character on the show, to be honest. And let's be honest, the character wouldn't be nearly half as fun if it wasn't for James Callis and his wonderful performance.
My anti otp: Kara/Lee

I haven't seen the second season yet, so this will just be for the first season.

JESSICA JONES

My favorite female character: Jessica Jones, obviously.
My favorite male character: Luke Cage
My favorite book/season/etc: S1, being the only season that I've seen so far. Will get to S2 eventually.
My favorite episode: This is very difficult because I consider the first season kind of a very long episode, since I binged it and it flows really nicely. But I would have to say "AKA The Sandwich Saved Me" and "AKA I've Got The Blues", both which featured flashbacks of Jessica to better understand her, the latter being a huge one for understanding her relationship with Trish.
My favorite cast member: Krysten Ritter
My favorite ship: Jessica/Luke
A character I’d die defending: Jessica and Trish
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Kilgrave, Jeri Hogarth
A character I grew to love: I mean, all the characters that I love I loved pretty much instantly, so I don't think there is a character that I grew to love necessarily.
My anti otp: Jessica/Kilgrave.

DARK ANGEL

My favorite female character: Max Guevara
My favorite male character: Zack, Logan Cale, Herbal, Sketchy
My favorite book/season/etc: Season one, it was probably by far the best season of the entire show. The way it was structured, it was way more personal in terms of the story, it had some of my favorite episodes and I've rewatched that season so many times. I've had issues with the second season for numerous reasons, and I don't think I've revisited it that much as I have with S1.
My favorite episode: I could just say the entire first season which wouldn't be a lie at all tbh.
My favorite cast member: Jessica Alba
My favorite ship: Zack/Max
A character I’d die defending: Max, oddly enough. Although there is very little fandom presence anymore, Max barely gets any love when there is mention of the show and it's strange considering she is, y'know, the main freaking character. As a character, Max was a huge part of my formative years so I'm inclined to defend her.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Idk?
A character I grew to love: I think Normal? He wasn't my favorite character, but the more times I rewatch the show the more I've come to really like his character, especially knowing that he changes his opinion and attitude at the end of the second season. Although it is expanded very briefly in the books that were released, part of me wishes we could've seen more of this character development in a third season.
My anti otp: Alec/Max.

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

My favorite female character: Sara Lance
My favorite male character: Rip Hunter, Mick, Snart
My favorite book/season/etc: Season 1. It had its issues with certain storylines, sure, but it was legitimately the season I have most enjoyed. And to be honest, I haven't really been keeping up with the show at all lately.
My favorite episode: "Star City 2046", "The Magnificent Eight", "Last Refuge", and "Outlaw Country". These are the ones that stick out in my mind.
My favorite cast member: Caity Lotz
My favorite ship: Rip/Sara, Mick/Amaya
A character I’d die defending: Sara Lance, of course. But also Kendra Saunders. Although she didn't get much to do during the first season, which is a shame, I really liked her and I wished that she had remained part of the team. And Rip Hunter, because I really like his character though he seems quite unpopular with the fandom? I don't often engage a lot with the fandom though, so idk, but he doesn't get nearly enough love and as flawed as he is, he's still a vital part of the team that he put together and did go through hell several times (from his family being murdered to being brainwashed).
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Vandal Savage
A character I grew to love: Mick.
My anti otp: Ray/Kendra, Nate/Amaya
