Date: 2018-03-23 06:18 pm (UTC)Dark Angel had a lot of elements that are relevant today, and I feel like it was ahead of its time, at least in regards to the first season as I've had issues with the second second (including the addition of Alec which, apparently, is an unpopular opinion). It had a nice diverse cast, LGBT representation (though not perfect, it was progressive for the time but it still has moments that I cringe at when I look back at it now), a dystopian future that pretty much could very well become our own future soon, and just a great story about a young woman looking for her separated family and who is just trying to survive despite her being a transgenic experiment. It wasn't perfect, but damn if it wasn't well done and I'm surprised that it continues to be so overlooked and underappreciated.
