++ Another trailer for S2 of Jessica Jones, it's mostly some footage from the first season with snippets of the second, but still effective in getting you absolutely hyped for it nonetheless. It is both so close yet so far away.

I just want to say, one of the things I absolutely love about Jessica Jones as a whole (aside from everything) is her just being angry. I feel like whenever a woman is allowed to be angry in mainstream media it is often subdued and not handled that well in the writing. Jessica, even after confronting and defeating her abuser, is still suffering from PTSD from that, she is still having a hard time dealing with the horrible things that she has dealt with throughout her life, and she isn't going to let someone tell her to "stop being angry" and that she should just "move on". Hell, she would probably get even angrier if someone tries to tell her how to feel and end up punching them as a result. And I just love how she is so unadulterated in her fury. Like, I want her to heal from her wounds and to be okay which will be a gradual progression throughout the series for sure and I'm looking forward to seeing that character development, but it's still just so refreshing to see a woman character to just be angry and not apologize for it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm happy that the showrunner isn't subduing her anger just because Kilgrave is gone. I remember after the announcement that there was going to be a second season the showrunner mentioned that Jessica will still be dealing with her PTSD, which was not only a relief but it also makes narrative sense. Even in the series pilot when Jessica thought Kilgrave was gone the first time (before realizing that he wasn't) she was suffering flashbacks and drinking to forget, and the second season is still going to be dealing with everything she went through on top of reliving the traumatic car crash that killed her family and what happened to her.

I just really love Jessica Jones, both the show and the character. I honestly can't wait for the second season, which will feature not only all women directors, it will also premiere on International Women's Day. How dope is that?

++ Doctor Who is getting a brand new logo and it is so gorgeous. I really love it.

++ One Day At A Time is a Netflix half-hour sitcom series that has two seasons so far, but the fear of it getting cancelled has been noticeable that the showrunner has urged fans and newcomers alike to watch at least four episodes of the show to let Netflix know that it deserves to be renewed. This was announced a while ago and idk if it'll still make an difference, but it never hurts to try!

I haven't watched the show myself just yet, but I have heard a lot of great things about it, particularly the inclusion of LGBT represenation, which has been the biggest draw for many people (this scene especially has been making the rounds lately, getting even more people invested). Alongside being a heartwarming show about family, and a Latino family at that, it also tackles heavy and serious topics, which according to others is handled very well for episodes that are only half an hour long. I've only seen clips from it and I will eventually find the time to watch this show, but I hope it does end up getting renewed because it is rare to find sitcoms that tackle serious issues and being aware of the social climate while still being genuinely funny. And apparently, because it's on Netflix, it's allowed to go to places that sitcoms or even most dramas on national television aren't able to, which is pretty awesome.

I'm just really hyped for the new season. I've been excited since hearing the basic details of what they'll be exploring (her past, understanding what happened to her, dealing with all of that, etc) and I'm hoping that it'll be just as good and solid as the first season. So basically, SO MUCH EXCITE! :D

I saw the trailer of one day at the time the other day as soon as I finished Everything Sucks and I put it on my to watch list... I better watch it sooner than later than!!! :)

Oh yes, that scene from ODAAT is great. Syd is one of my new faves; they are just the cutest. ^^

That DW logo is gorgeous indeed. I liked it right away. Everything is gonna be brand new! It's quite exciting. And there's finally some pictures of the filming making the rounds, nothing majorly spoilery, but it's nice that it's gotten started. :D

There are some compilations on YouTube of Elena/Syd moments in S2. I also love how the show has Syd use they/them pronouns to describe themselves. :)

And There is just something so aesthetically pleasing about that logo, I can't quite place it, but it's just so nice to look at. I am really loving how everything is going to be new this go around. New Doctor, new showrunner, new logo, new composer. For a show that is about change, it makes sense. I'm looking forward to seeing the new season when it finally premieres.

I love that too. Not too many non-binary characters in tv, and it's also really great how once the introductions were over with, everyone just used the right pronouns. No big deal. It's great. :D

I agree. I think the only change that had me go 'no!' momentarily was that we're getting a new composer, because all the music so far is so beautiful. But I'm excited about that too, now, because I wanna hear what their contribution to the show is gonna be like. :D

In general we are getting better with being more inclusive, though it is very, very slow going for most of mainstream media. So while Netflix isn't technically regular television, I'm still glad that there are plenty of shows on there that feature that. Hopefully mainstream media will catch up on that.

Yeah, I did a double take when I heard that the composer was leaving after all these years. It's sad, but in truth it's pretty exciting because it means we're getting a brand new fresh start with everything. I really want to hear what the new composer is going to bring for Thirteen's theme.

Yeah, it would've been very easy in the way of most shows to have her solve her problems with Kilgrave's death- she's confronted the source of her problems, dealt with it, so moving onto new arc. But life isn't like that, and things stick with you so I'm glad to see that Kilgrave's still around (in her head).

Ahh I love, love, love One Day at a Time. It's great it takes a couple of episodes both in season one and then again at the start of season two to find it's feet and strike the right tone but it's totally worth watching. I've watched it more than once.
