++ We got a brief behind-the-scenes sneak peek into the Sense8 special finale, which while there are brief glimpses into what they may have filmed the video is mostly them talking about how grateful they are to be back and appreciating the fans and the connection they feel with everyone, and it's honestly so beautiful. I love these people so much and while Sense8 deserved much better than what Netflix did to them, the fact we're getting this finale movie at all is a miracle in itself. And just seeing all of them back together, from the BTS pictures and such they've been posting over the last several months, has been amazing to see. Like, we fans did that. ❤

++ However, in some sad news, it appears that BBC America has cancelled Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. I had just gotten into this show recently and I heard rumor that it was on the bubble (probably due to it not being properly advertised and international viewership not being counted), but I thought that unlike most networks that it would at least have another season. But I guess not everything is like Orphan Black, despite being just as unique and engaging and a has strong loyal fanbase. There is already a petition to help get it renewed and move elsewhere. As always it's not a guarantee, but if we've learned anything by now is that we have to at least try.

It's just a behind the scenes video with them talking about being back to film the show again after everything that happened. There hasn't been a proper trailer released for the upcoming two hour finale movie. Yet. IDK when that'll be, but I'm hoping soon. :)

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is such a bizarre little show that will confuse yet intrigue you. I still have to watch it properly myself, but based on what I've seen it's definitely worth checking out.

IKR? This year was quite unfair to Sense8 with what Netflix did to them and all the hoopla that happened, but 2018 is going to be their year because we're getting a finale special and I know they're going to deliver. I still want six seasons and a movie from then (what they rightfully deserved, tbh), but this is better than nothing and I'm going to be so happy when it finally arrives. :D

The petition has been rising in signatures constantly, so while it's a long shot I do hope something comes from it.

It really did. I'm still very angry and bitter towards Netflix for what they did, it's something I'll never forgive or forget, so just because we're getting a final special doesn't mean Netflix is good in my books. Either way, I'm still very excited for the special and seeing these characters again and getting things resolved and wrapped up. It should've lasted longer for more seasons, but I'll take whatever I can get at this point.

Dirk Gently didn't even get shown over here, so much for it being the BBC. I was always surprised they were remaking it so soon, especially as the other series got rave reviews but was also cancelled. That had a petition set up too but it didn't make any difference.

I know that most times petitions don't always work, but it can sometimes (ex: Sense8 being one of the rare examples). With enough noise of fan campaigning it can get the attention of networks and get to the showrunners/cast. Already the petition itself has been growing significantly since it was first started a couple of days ago, and continues to grow. Fans just do what they can and hope for the best.

Nooooo! I really enjoyed season 1 of Dirk Gently... I still need to watch season 2... I decided to binge watch it since it’s more enjoyable that way... season 1 was quite difficult to follow waiting week after week... I hope it doesn’t end with a huge cliffhanger at least...

I know what you mean. I just discovered the show very recently and need to find the time to binge watch the first season properly so I can do the same with the second season. So hearing this bummed me out. I'm hoping that the fan petition and campaign to get the show renewed elsewhere succeeds in some way.

I haven't seen any spoilers for the finale, though based on some reactions I think the season concluded on a good note, or at least nothing on a massive cliffhanger.

Hopefully it's a nice well rounded ending that's not clearly leading somewhere else like the first season's ending did. Like, if it had ended after season one, it would have been horrible.

Still sad about Dirk Gently. :( Reading tweets, it really meant a lot to a lot of people. Amanda in particular gets mentioned a lot, at least I see a lot of that on my timeline, as inspiring because of how she dealt with her pararibulitis (and it's not an illness that the show gets rid of, she just learns to cope with it; granted, in a very DG universe way, but still), but Farah and Dirk are also mentioned.
I hope the petition helps, but they do really need to get some numbers on Netflix once the show is released to non-US places aswell, come January. The showrunner/writer have mentioned that on his twitter so that helps a little. Hopefully, the petition and good viewing numbers combined, Netflix or some other network will be interested in giving it a home. :D

Yeah, I've seen so much love for Amanda everywhere from the fandom because of this, as well. Her illness isn't trivialized and instead of curing it (as most shows often do for any character that has a unique illness or condition that makes them "different" in order to make them "normal") the show emphasizes that it's a part of her and demonstrates how she can manage it. I have yet to watch the show in order properly but I have seen bits and pieces and I already love her relationship with the Rowdy Three because they took her in and treated her as an equal and helped her along her journey.

Hopefully, the petition and good viewing numbers combined, Netflix or some other network will be interested in giving it a home. :D

Farah is a great one aswell, though may not get mentioned as much. ? Idk. But she's a bit anxious and she's also badass and not afraid to take the lead on things.

Yeah, I heard about this recently along with everyone else and it's really unfortunate because it seems like he was the one heavily advocating for the show to get renewed. However, just because there are accusations against him of allegedly being horrible doesn't mean the show cannot be renewed without him. The petition itself doesn't even mention him (if it ever did? I can't remember) but instead one of the other producers and executives involved with the show, Arvind Ethan David, which many want him to become the showrunner if the show ends up finding a new home.

Although Taika Waititi would be great too. Fantastic, even. :D

Yuuupppp. But yes, I agree; I think Sleepy Hollow had a change of showrunners after s1? Not for the same reasons, but still. And I *think* The Bold Type has had a make over aswell. So it can certainly be done. And I mean, Doctor Who frequently changes showrunners, so. I really hope it cna be done with DG. :D

I don't know if he was mentioned or not, but I *think* so? I did see a brief twitter convo where someone mentioned that (to the one starting the petition, I think) and they said they'd change it - or had - and include Arvind instead. I'm sure he'd run the show just fine without the other one. ^^

Signed. My response to hearing about this on Spoiler TV was, "Well, frak." I enjoyed its uniqueness, off-beat-ness, and how it didn't take itself seriously, yet managed not to slip so much into self-parody as to lose its entertainment value (in contrast to certain episodes of Supernatural).

I hear the production company did renew it for a third season already, so with BBC America having cancelled it, it just needs a new home.

I certainly hope that is the case. The fandom has been very vocal about their disappointment and trying to get anyone and everyone to help get the show renewed, including not just the petition itself but also advocating for newcomers to watch the show when it appears on Netflix in January to get the views up for the possibility of it being picked up and renewed.
