++ I wanted to share my thoughts on the Sense8 Christmas special.

Sense8: A Christmas Special

Personally, I absolutely loved the two-hour special. It was wonderful to see these characters again after since a long hiatus from the first season.

The special was more about the personal connection between the sensates and how they're dealing with their own issues whether together or with those in their own individual lives, with the bigger plot being a small thing, as kind of a taste of what we'll be seeing in the second season proper. The scenes with all the the sensates together is something I greatly enjoyed, with them either just visiting for either advice or sensing that someone within their cluster was feeling anxious or worried and trying to calm them down, or helping them out of tough situations. Just them becoming more comfortable with this connection, being protective of one another, it's so beautiful. Found families is my weakness and Sense8 is practically built on that.

There were many moments that I loved, but I think my favorites are the emotional ones. Everything surrounding Lito was definitely the biggest of them all, I find. It was a continuation of what happened in the first season and him having to deal with the aftermath of being forcibly outed, coming to terms with it, and realizing that he didn't want to live that lie anymore. It's heartbreaking because of the harsh consequences that he will face with the uncertainty of his career and public perception, but heartwarming because he knows who his true friends and family are, the ones that stick by him no matter what. When we get to his mother, I could think of no other way of perfecting that moment. She was filled with warmth and acceptance, that unconditional love is extended when she accepts Daniela as part of the family as well. I love Lito's mom, and I hope we get more of her in the second season.

The show has always been gorgeously shot, and this special wasn't short of showcasing all the amazing cinematography. From the opening scene to the birthday sequence/new sensate orgy scene (♥) and the Christmas montage. Of course, all these scenes incorporated all of the sensates together in some fashion or another, which as I mentioned I absolutely loved.

As sad and confusing as the announcement was that they were recasting Capheus, I was impressed by the new actor. He seemed to really fit right, getting all the mannerisms and personality of the character, and the relationships with the other characters. And interesting that they addressed it slightly with the "you're looking different" line.

I did think the ending was a little abrupt, however. That's my only gripe.

Overall, I loved the Christmas special mostly because it featured many important emotional moments for the characters, and seeing them all together made me so happy. It makes me anticipate what the second season will bring.

++ I got into a new show recently, Bull, a procedural drama/comedy on CBS. I didn't intend on watching it mostly because I was unaware of it and only discovered it several days ago, but my sister started it on recommendation and I caught an episode and I found it intriguing. Of course, I'm someone who doesn't mind procedurals just as long as it can capture my attention and has likable characters. With Bull, the cases and the way the show is conducted is interesting, and the characters so far aren't that bad. My favorite character, however, is Cable (portrayed by Annabelle Attanasio). She's basically similar to Claudia Donovan from Warehouse 13, so naturally she would be my favorite. The show is still in its first season and just came back from mid-season hiatus, so we'll see where it goes.

++ The Golden Globes happened which I didn't really pay attention to. I only know that Colin Farrell appeared (♥!!!) since he was nominated for his role in The Lobster, but sadly didn't win (which while I kinda predicted would be the case considering what it was up against, he still deserves the recognition, also I'm confused why musicals and comedies are even in the same category to begin with since they're not the same thing, it seems kinda unfair tbh, but whatever), and the amazing Meryl Streep speech which was something we all needed.

I have the same feelings toward the sense8 Christmas special. Therefore, I don't what you thought about the romance line between Wolf and Kala but I'm very disappointed by the fact that Kala chose to marry this man she didn't love. I still hope they will explore further more their relationship and that she'll come to realize that she doesn't love her husband.

I also wish Kala hadn't gone through with the marriage, because it's true that she doesn't love him the same way and it is addressed in the special that even Rajan knows this. I know the actress talked about how Kala is being pulled in two different directions, one with living a comfortable life with Rajan and the other is the attraction and desire with Wolfgang, and they will be exploring that further. I normally don't like triangles because of how they're handled, but this one is different just from their situation.

The UST between Kala and Wolfgang is undeniable, and I just really want them to eventually be together somehow in the future.
