++ As mentioned previously, I went to an advanced screening of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them on Monday. Here are my very brief non-spoilery thoughts (full review to come later):

Colin Farrell was the highlight of the entire film for me, as predicted since he was the main reason I wanted to see this film so badly. His performance was phenomenal in every scene he appeared in. Never mind the fact that he was fine as fuck, like hot damn. ♥

As a whole, I'm still trying to process and digest everything that happened. There were things that genuinely surprised me, things that really shows that it is still part of the Wizarding World that we know but is also separate from the Harry Potter franchise, and then there were things that were kind of predictable which left me rather disappointed and I'm not entirely certain what to think in regards to that. Again, I'm still mulling everything over. I didn't go into this with high expectations to begin with since I only came for one purpose, so I don't know. I'll be seeing the movie again this weekend when it officially opens here in the U.S., so perhaps another viewing might place things into perspective. But overall, it was alright. It's just a lot to take in.


++ While there might not be an Inhumans movie, Marvel is planning a television series instead. I'm actually wondering how it'll coincide with Agents of Shield, if at all. Considering that Daisy Johnson is the main protagonist on that show and that's where her story is being told along with their Inhumans storyline still being a major focus, I think the possibility of crossovers should be expected. Or mentions of what is happening from one another respectively, at the very least.

I'm hoping there are crossovers. It would be kind of weird to have two Marvel shows on the same Network existing in the same universe and not having any kind of crossover of some kind. They did it with Agent Carter and Agents of Shield, so I'm positive that they could make it work.

I'll be writing my full review this weekend. I do have thoughts, a lot of them jumbled up so it might be an incoherent mess, but definitely look out for that. :)

I'm so happy I got that chance, too! It was quite an experience. I never did any kind of advanced screening before, so just being part of that was interesting. There were a lot of people there, including press in the back of the theater. I'm very grateful to have gone to just an event. :)

Unfortunately, Inhumans is starting in the fall and since Agents of Shield has amassed enough episodes to be syndicated...it used to be 100 but I guess 88 is close enough...and this is the fourth season...and Agents of SHIELD is currently in ABC's death slot...

I think it's getting canceled which totally sucks but they'll move who they can/who wants to into the new series and others elsewhere. It would be nice to have Coulson being able to interact with others again.

I'm curious about more spoilery reviews of the film especially the stuff you alluded to that wasn't so Harry Potter. I was looking forward to the series addressing Gellert/Albus but then they cast Johnny Depp as Gellert and I will probably be pissed forever.

I think it'll get cancelled. I feel like it'll probably have at least one more season to go before it ends. That is my prediction anyway. But regardless, I would love for Daisy to go onto Inhumans nonetheless, or in any other Marvel-related thing, because I want her story to continue and for Chloe to continue portraying her in some fashion.

Yeah, that was the biggest letdown for me. When they announced that they would be focusing on Dumbledore/Grindelwald in the later movies I was intrigued, but then that casting happened, and I'm just nope. Such a miscast, it's not even funny. He's just so wrong for the part.

When he was revealed I was immediately thrown out of the moment. But miscasting aside, I feel like they shouldn't have shown Grindelwald at all in the first film; mentioning him and had his influence featured in the background of course, but have it be more of a gradual lead-up to him being revealed later. It would've been more organic that way instead of rushed, imho.

(And it would've allowed them to make a proper recast for the role; like if Depp filmed a silhouette of Grindelwald like in the beginning of the film, but they just decided to cast someone else and it wouldn't be that big of a deal for such a change. I mean, technically they could still do that since recastings happen all the time, but unfortunately I think we're stuck with him. Ugh.)
