++ Hello to those from the new friending meme!

++ The first half of Carmilla's third season dropped recently, to which of course I watched all 17 episodes so far. I'm going to wait until I've seen the entire season so I can give a proper review and overview of the series, but so far I'm loving the direction it's going. The production value has upped its game and the dialogue is just as quick and witty as ever, which I'm incredibly impressed by. It's going to be bittersweet seeing the grand finale of this delightful webseries, but it'll be worth seeing how it ends.

++ Everyone's been talking about new and returning fall shows. At the moment, the only returning shows that I'm excited about are Agents of Shield (because I'm emotionally invested with Daisy's story and I'm psyched to see what happens next for her character and the direction of the show), Legends of Tomorrow (Sara Lance is bae ♥) and Supergirl (still apprehensive about the move since I don't want them CW-ifying it, but I'm curious about the massive crossover with the Arrowverse shows, including a musical crossover episode with The Flash that I'm hearing about). And of course the return of Elementary and Brooklyn Nine-Nine gives me happy feelings, as well. For new shows, I'm going to be checking out The Good Place mostly because of Kirsten Bell but also the previews do make it seem original and funny, Van Helsing on Syfy, Berlin Station on Epix mainly for Richard Armitage and Michelle Forbes, and I am of course going to be watching Luke Cage and the Gilmore Girls revival once it drops on Netflix.

There are others that I'm forgetting about I'm sure, but these are definitely top priority for me at the moment. I do watch too much television so it's hard to keep track of what is coming back and what is new, plus there are still things that I need to catch up on as well.

In Supergirl's defense, it was on NBC beforehand which is notorious for its case of the week approach, so it might not suffer too much from the move?

I've heard kind of mixed things re Van Helsing, in that the idea is probably a good one, but the execution seems to be less than great?

Maybe not. I don't know, it still has me a bit wary that the show will turn into the typical CW program, and I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't. So while I'm excited about what may come from it I'm still a bit nervous.

Yeah, the previews for Van Helsing alone haven't been convincing enough to sell me on the show. But I'm still curious.

Yeah, I think this is the first instance of having a show change stations due in part to the other shows in the universe being somewhere else so kinda uncharted territory here? I mean, how the show is/was isn't too outside the comfort zone of CW, so we'll see how it pans out.

Same- interesting premise, but not really enough thought in it to push it all the way?

I'm looking forward to Legends of Tomorrow, too. I felt the end of last season was kinda meh for me, but the way it ended was intriguing and I'm interested to see where they go with it.

There were some things about the first season that didn't impress me, such as the whole Ray/Kendra nonsense that just felt mostly filler imho and Vandal Savage was kind of an over-the-top villain. But other than that, it's such a fun, entertaining show as a whole and one of the things I appreciated about it was how it allows Sara a chance to shine more with her development along with other character interactions and relationships.

I'm certainly curious about what the second season is going to bring.

I should catch up on Carmilla at some point. I never finished S2 cause I knew that Laura would end up annoying me with her whole ~hero thing haha. But I do want to catch up and find out what is going on someday!

I'm definitely going to watch Luke Cage as well, and probably The Good Place since it's easy for me to watch comedies and stay caught up on them.

Yeah, Laura's hero complex was quite frustratingly annoying in the second season, so much that I ended up disliking her for most of it particularly with the way she treated Carmilla. I will say, though, that Laura does eventually come to her senses, which is of course a huge part of her character development and I do appreciate that. But yeah, it's kind of hard to watch seeing how she just doesn't understand until it's too late.

But when you get the chance, definitely finish up S2 (and then the special Season Zero, if you haven't seen it already) because the third season is knocking it out of the park so far!

I watched the pre-air episodes of Berlin Station and it's cracking me up. I feel like it comes across really corny but I think you might have to approach it like Spooks and not take it super seriously. Because it's actually filmed in Berlin I'm watching it mostly for scenery. There's tons of places in it where I hang out all the time. I also enjoy a lot that the Germans are played by Germans and the dialogue isn't too cringy when the Americans have to speak awkward Germany.

I'm mostly going to be watching it for Richard and Michelle mostly, because they were the major draws for the show and I'll basically follow anything Richard does. I followed all the BTS stuff prior with them filming in Berlin and it just looks amazing, just from the locations and the cinematography alone. So that alone will be a treat.

Yeah. I'm excited that they've filmed a show in my city that I can get invested in and they make even the really scary parts of town look cool. I think I might have actually seen all the trailers and lights when they were filming at one of the places while I was going to a show.

Most of the new shows I'm interested in are mid-season. I'm going to try Timeless, as well as Luke Cage and Dirk Gently.

It's honestly difficult to constantly keep track of the shows that are coming back for fall/mid-season along with the newer shows that might capture my interest. I try to keep up, but of course with how many things I watch it's nearly impossible.

There are always a few I only watch the following summer, since US series are so badly balanced over the year. It's kind of ridiculous at that point.

Yeah, I tend to not watch all of them as they air (because it is freaking impossible), but rather watch one or two as it's airing while binge-watching the rest once they either hit the halfway point or when their seasons finish. It's better that way, imho.

It definitely looks unique, I'm just wondering what might happen. I know that Kirsten Bell's character will probably do something horrible to disrupt the balance in Heaven, but how will it go down we'll have to wait and see.

I'm mostly just watching AoS for Skye/Daisy & Melinda at this point.

Excited for LoT & Supergirl. Tentatively excited for Van Helsing. I tend to like supernatural/sci-fi shows w/ badass female leads.

The Good Place was more entertaining than I expected. I'll probably watch it while I do yoga w/ mom, but I doubt it'll be a show I make sure to keep up w/.

Daisy is my main draw to the show, but I do enjoy a lot of the other character interactions as well. Even though they'll be focusing on Daisy becoming Quake and the introduction of Ghost Rider and what that will entail, I'm hoping that Daisy and Mack reunite this season, I loved their dynamic last season.

I'm the same with this, as well. It's something I'm most attracted to, honestly. While I've heard mixed things about Van Helsing, I'm willing to give it a shot anyway.

It's just so surreal that we'll be getting all new Gilmore Girls in 2016. Who would've thought? Just seeing Stars Hollow again in those promos makes me all happy with nostalgia. I just hope the revival lives up to the hype and excitement, because many fans weren't happy with the way the last couple of seasons of the show happened and we don't want another repeat of that.

Yeah, I tend to accidentally stumble across something new more than anticipate anything upcoming these days. Newer shows often don't sound that interesting or enticing to me from their description or previews, and most of them will probably end up getting cancelled early on anyway.

There haven't been a lot of new shows catching my attention, which isn't necessarily a bad thing because I already watch a lot. But I am watching Atlanta and planning to check out Luke Cage, Insecure, Pitch, and Van Helsing.

These days I tend to discover most new shows/new fandoms on accident, usually through recommendations or coming across them through Tumblr. It's true that there has been much of the newer stuff that has caught my eye either, and as you mentioned it's not really a bad thing considering the amount of shows I already have. But sometimes it's rather disheartening when you look at the lineup and nothing really looks or sounds remotely interesting.

(However, there will be those rare surprises that something that originally looked bland actually ends up becoming something spectacular.)
