Avoiding sleep at the moment....

Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] goddessofmercy.

1. What do you like or dislike about autumn?
I love everything about autumn. The change in the weather (although living in California there's always unpredictable weather in the very beginning), the leaves on trees changing colors and falling one-by-one onto the ground. At my college the walkways are surrounded by trees like an archway, and during my late afternoon class it's nearby sunset and, as the sun peeks through the branches it makes beautiful colors from the leaves -- not to mention the soft breezes that comes through once and a while! Autumn also has those overcast days and minimal showers (yay, rainshowers and thunderstorms!). Oh, and also Halloween! Really, there isn't anything I dislike about this time of the year. The beauty from the extreme heat to medium temperature is just a pleasure and certainly a time of leisure. *sigh*

2. Have you raked leaves into a pile just to jump in them?
When I was younger I tried that once. Trouble was, there were little bugs and insects in the pile so it wasn't nearly as fun as the hype makes it out to be. Although back then it was in the park or someone else's house, for there were no trees in our backyard to rake leaves from.

3. Have you ever carved a pumpkin and how did it turn out?
Surprisingly enough, I don't recall ever carving a pumpkin before. Deprived little gal, aren't I? There might've been a time for a school project, but otherwise I don't believe I have.

4. Have you ever eaten anything made from pumpkins other than pie?
Again, possibly when I was just a wee one. Other than that....*shrugs* Besides, I'm not too keen on pumpkin pies -- or any pie in general, really. *is not a pie-eating person*

5. Where is a good spot to see the leaves change color where you live?
My college is extremely large in the sense of having tons and tons of trees all around campus -- and, as mentioned before, they created archways perfectly. When at the right time, it looks exquisitely gorgeous as the sunset makes it look like the leaves are dancing like little fireballs (especially if there's a small breeze). There's also plenty of parks around, particularly downtown.

Girl there is NO deprivation! We have too carved pumpkins! There are pictures of us toddling around looking for the gorram perfect pumpkin in a VERY cold patch and presumably the 'rents let us help make 'em jack o'lanterns!

This just happened for the last time a good...eeshk, fourteen years ago, I think.

Honey, I cannot remember for the LIFE of me what I freaking carved. Hell, I cannot remember IF I carved ANYTHING! All we have are pictures of us picking out little itty bitty pumpkins that were the sizes of our small heads....THAT'S IT!! Of course, you have the better memory than I do.

.....Did we really make Jack 'O Lanterns?

Yes, we did make them. Ask mom if you have any doubts of my memories of scooping out goopy pumpkin innards at the kitchen table.
