I'm so happy that Tatiana Maslany got her first Emmy nomination. Finally, after three years since Orphan Black premiered, she is getting the proper recognition she deserves for her extraordinary talent on that show.

I really want her to win, because it would further that recognition. But just having this nomination is enough of a validation that they at least considered her amongst the other talents in the category. Plus, Tatiana is such a sweetheart, so humble that she dedicated this nomination nod to the fans. Like, I'm sure an Emmy would be wonderful to have, but I truly think Tatiana treasures the fans and everyone involved with making the show what it is versus any kind sort of fancy award the academy gives her. It's the same with any genre television that often gets snubbed at these things, it would be amazing to be included not to mention win thus proving to the academy that genre television can and does deserve to be amongst the rest of their categories, but I think most consider their dedicated and passionately loyal fanbase to be the most treasured award they could ever have. And Tatiana makes it clear she is entirely grateful for the fans and their love and support since the beginning, so with or without an award she knows that there is validation in the work she does. She truly is a precious cinnamon roll too good and pure for this world. ♥

I am continually amazed by how versatile her range is, and how she manages to make playing multiple characters with different unique personalities so easy and effortless. She's so amazing. ♥

I don't even watch this (yet! I plan to) but I thought this was way overdue. I mean.. she plays everyone. Give credit where it's due!

And not just play multiple characters but all of them are so different from each other, with individual quirks and characteristics and Tatiana is able to distinguish each of them separately through the way she physically acts. Hell, several times throughout the show she plays a clone pretending to be another clone who's pretending to be another clone. And it's so flawlessly done, it's kind of unbelievable. Never mind that you often forget that all these characters are played by the same actress, which is a difficult thing to accomplish. I mean, seriously.

And you should totally watch it ASAP! It's such a good show and, as I mentioned, you'll be blown away by what Tatiana does. :3

She's simply amazing. She's one of the few actors out there who could literally carry on an entire show herself, which she has proven with Orphan Black where she ends up doing twice amount of work than any other actor, and yet still remain so humble that she gives credit to other people involved except herself. Like, from the writers and the entire technical crew to her body double.

Seriously, Tatiana isn't just a talented actress, she's also an incredibly beautiful human being. ♥

I heard about this, and yesss, awesome! I just. I'm glad she got a nomination, she so deserves it. What she's doing on the show is amazing, and she's amazing. I've seen her in a few other things, and it's relatively easy to forget about Tatiana in those things and just see the character she's playing. Though it's a whole different thing with OB, of course, there being so many clones and each one so distinct and different and very much their own person, different from the others /and/ Tatiana. I just. She's so good, I can't help gushing xD ^^

She is just so amazing, and I'm continually impressed with how she just does what she does in general. Her role on Orphan Black is pretty much an actor's dream job, because she gets to portray all these different characters that she wouldn't have otherwise been cast to play in other projects. Like she mentioned about Krystal, and how nobody in the business would've considered her for such a role, and yet OB allows her to do just that.

Not to mention the sheer talent of her playing a clone pretending to be another clone and making it super believable. Like, how does she do that? I know that she's done improv and that has helped, but she makes it seem so effortless. She never ceases to amaze me with what she does.

Gushing is totally fine! I gush too, because she's truly phenomenal, both as an actress and as a human being. ♥

Whoo! I'm finally watching season 2 of Orphan Black right now. She is so fantastic. I keep forgetting this is actually the same person over and over, each of the clones feels like a full person, it's so cool.

There have been so many times when I truly forget that she is actually portraying all these different characters, because she makes them so distinctively different from each other. And I've watched things where actors play twins or something and while it's cool, there is something there where you can tell that it's the same actor.

But with Tatiana, all you have to do is watch interviews and catch yourself thinking, "wait, this is so small, where is the rest of the actresses who played....oh right." ;)

By the way, how did you like the second season? Have you started the third?

Nine characters and counting. ;) But yeah, I know some have mentioned that the show needed to be "established" in order to get a nomination, but didn't Game of Thrones win the year it premiered? So yeah. It's time that Tatiana was recognized after all this time.

Yeah, but GoT's wealth of nominations/awards is more a symptom of how grimdark as a genre is treated by the critics, as opposed to actual establishment and quality. Though to be fair, OB while solid in s1, really kicked things off in s2.

Yeah, that is unfortunately true. Never mind that Game of Thrones caught international popularity rather quickly, whereas Orphan Black, while rising in popularity itself, was still in obscurity of being a genre show on BBC America which the academy didn't really bother to take notice of.
