++ Dark Matter is a new series that will be premiering on Syfy soon, and it's based off of comic books of the same name. I hadn't heard about this until recently, but from reading about the main plot along with watching the trailer, I'm intrigued already. The casting looks great (diversity yay, and Wil Wheaton also has a role in this as well) and I'm all in for more scifi thrillers and mysteries. I'm still sad about Helix, but if this series is good and does well then it can fill that particular void.

++ There's also going to be a new show on ABC Family called Stitchers. I have no idea what it's about, the previews themselves are incredibly vague to the actual plot, but all I know is that Allison Scagliotti is in it, and therefore I will be watching. ♥

++ I've been hearing a lot of good things about Ex Machina, an independent science fiction film that is about examining humanity with the creation of artificial intelligence. I'm pretty much all about anything involving A.I. and them becoming sentient beings, and by that I mean I get really emotional about it. Pretty much anything that has machines becoming individuals of their own and fighting for their independence from being enslaved or abused by humanity, I'm here for. I haven't gone any deeper than reading general non-spoiler reviews about it, but I'm intrigued since it's basically taking the similar concept as seen with these kinds of plots and themes and kind of doing something different with it. So I'm very curious to see how well this is executed and whether it lives up to the recommendations and praise.

Dark Matter and Stitchers both look potentially interesting! I'm also looking forward to Sense8, though the info on that is extremely scarce and it's hard to say whether it will be really interesting or pretentious and boring.

I wasn't aware of Sense8 until you mentioned it, and then I watched the trailer and it does look interesting. The concept seems cool in a headtrippy kind of way. Like, these people are connected to each other despite not being anywhere near one another and yet they can enter each other's minds and communicate or sense things from the other and what is happening with them? I'm rather curious about how that will be executed.

The trailers seem to want to entice that curiosity so people will tune in, which is a smart promotion strategy. Don't reveal too much, but just give an interesting spot where it leaves you intrigued enough to check it out. Of course the question is whether it will be engaging enough to continue watching.

All I know is that regardless, I'll be watching for a bit because of Allison. That is basically my main reason for tuning in, tbh. I have no shame.

I hadn't known about Dark Matter until very recently, but everything about the premise sounds like something right up my alley. And I just looked up Sense8 and Killjoys, and those look quite interesting as well. I'm really stoked to see more scifi-esque shows.

I'd forgotten about Dark Minds! Definitely gonna watch that one. (Zoie Palmer :D and I recognised a couple of other people in the trailer ^^) The trailer looks promising. And it's only about a month away, yay! :D

Never heard of Stitcher's, but the little I read about it just now makes it sound like it could be interesting. And Allison Scagliotti, so of course I'll check it out.

So it was her! I wasn't sure because the scenes went by so fast. Such a great casting setup, I swear. I'm hoping that it does good. I really need more good scifi programming in my life.

I'll be honest, I'll watch pretty much anything with Allison Scagliotti. The commercials made me curious, but then I saw her in that brief promo and I was like, "oh, sold!" lol

I didn't even see her, I wasn't sure this was the thing she was gonna be in because I was like "well, where is she? Is this the thing Zoie's supposed to be in? Wan't it called Dark Matter? But where is she then? D:" but then I googled and Google confirmed that yes, Dark Matter is a thing that Zoie Palmer will be in. And now you said that, I re-watched, and paused, and there she was ^^ (also, I heard Ruby Rose will be in it, guest starring at least :D and there's Ryan from Lost Girl and the guy who's in Continuum and Orphan Black and the cast just looks great in general :D)
I hope it does good, too. It has to. It looks and sounds too good not to.

I hadn't even seen any promos or teasers, I just googled. I went and watched the trailer/promo and all the teasers now. Makes me wanna watch it more. Very vague, the promos/teasers, but intriguing. ^^

There was a little advert about Stitchers in the previews at my local theater (when I went to see Avengers) - the concept sounded interesting - with her getting into the head of dead person to solve their murder. I'll def be checking it out, I need some more summer shows + Dark Matter too, bc I am all about the scifi shows. :D

Oh Dark Matter definitely does look interesting! And anything with a proper diverse cast already has more of my interest. Thanks for linking to the trailer, I always like watching those (though I usually forget) as it gives you a little taste of the show at least. I so hope this show is good, I'll keep my eyes out for it for sure ;)

It seems pretty interesting, judging by the trailers and the reviews have been positive. I'm intrigued, to say the least. It's on my list to see, as well. I don't know whether I'll be seeing it in theaters but I'll be seeing it eventually.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of things about Ex Machina? The whole idea of AI is a really interesting one, since we're likely coming up on the point where it's a very real possibility in the near future.

Ohhh, I heard that she landed a role in Stichers, but then it sort of vanished off the news. Not that I know anything about the show, either.

I mean, it's already happening. Just thinking about the technological advancements that has been happening over the last several years in creating machines that can react to us and even think for itself...that near future is becoming much closer than we think. It's both fascinating and scary, because we know what will happen based on what science fiction has taught us.

And honestly, I like seeing different variations of these stories being told. Machines uprising after being mistreated by humans is a common theme, but it's something we must take heed on because, with how we're advancing in technology at such a rapid rate now, anything is possible.

I honestly hadn't heart anything about Stitchers until those previews, and seeing Allison in one of them definitely spiked my interest tenfold. It says that she's also a main player, so we'll see.
