++ R.I.P. Sir Terry Pratchett. The only books I read of his was Hogfather and Good Omens, but he earned a certain legacy as not just a fantastic writer and storyteller but also as an honorable human being. I knew that he had been suffering from Alzheimer's and was planning on seeking assisted suicide (which he made a documentary about the legalization of euthanasia) should the time come when he started losing all sense of self. Sad as it is of his passing, I'm relieved it never came to that, and he passed peacefully as himself surrounded by his family. May he have met his version of Death on the other side.
++ Agents of Shield 2.12 "Who You Really Are"
I just want to hug Skye so badly. She has been through a tremendous amount, and now with this powerful ability she wields that she has absolutely no control over it must be incredibly scary and overwhelming. It doesn't help that the stress of everything that is going on makes her go into panic mode which, as her powers are linked to her emotions, makes more damage and the more she panics the more things start getting out of hand. When she says that she can't stop it, she means it. Her emotions are too all over the place to honestly calm down. It's something that, give the right kind of mental preparation by the right person, she can harness that control. I'm happy that Fitz, May and Coulson were all protective of her, especially when up against Asgardian warriors like Sif, but of course there is going to be those who are wary and uncertain about the situation.
I find it interesting when people automatically go into the black and white mentality when it comes to taking sides, when that's not the case at all. Skye would never do anything to harm anyone, she proved that by hurting herself without hesitation to prevent any further damage that she may indirectly cause by her powers getting out of control. But people fear what they don't understand, and it's unfortunate that it's created a rift between the team.
The conversation between Fitz and Simmons was heartbreaking, and I do think it was a low blow what Fitz said in retaliation. It further proves that they still need to talk about what happened between them, because the communication just isn't there and it needs repairing. I'm really, really hoping that it happens soon because these two kids need to make-up and make things better, because they're both hurting but not saying what needs to be said to fix things. Furthermore, I'm hoping that Jemma and Skye will talk in the next episode.
Skye locking herself up broke my heart. I want everything to be okay for her. I know it will eventually, because Skye is strong and she will get through this. But in the meantime I just want to wrap her in blankets and give her a huge hug and tell her that everything will be alright. My poor baby girl. :(
(Also, surprise!Eddie McClintock, hi Pete!)
++ The Grace Helbig Show is coming, premiering April 3rd on E! I'm quite curious to see what this show will entail and how non-Internet viewers will react.
++ And now for a meme that I've been seeing everywhere on my flist. You can find most of my fandoms listed in my profile/interests.

Date: 2015-03-14 02:54 pm (UTC)So sad about Pratchett. I've read about 9 of the Discworld books. His writing was just full of joy and humor, and the world will miss him.

Date: 2015-03-14 09:48 pm (UTC)Character I'd let hang from a cliff: Saurman, Azog, Bolg
Character I'd frak or make-out with: Thorin ♥
Character I'd marry: Thorin
Character I'd wrap a blanket around: Thorin, because his entire life is one beautiful tragedy filled with pain and anger and hopelessness, that by the end I just wanted to wrap him in a blanket and keep him safe. Away from the gold, away from the battle. Also Bilbo, because of watching his friends go to war, die, and what he will endure in the future.
5 favorite characters: Thorin, Bilbo, Tauriel, Galadriel, Bard
3 OTPs: Bilbo/Thorin, Bard/Thranduil, Galadriel/Gandalf
Funniest character: Bilbo and Kili
Prettiest character: Thorin, because I'm biased. But also Tauriel, and Galadriel (basically, Cate Blanchett hasn't aged).
Most bad-ass character: Bilbo, because for a simple homely hobbit he had to adapt rather quickly to his surroundings, he had to be resourceful and think quickly on his feet, and essentially make the most difficult choices anyone would have to make in dire situations. I can't imagine any other character doing what he did in regards with bargaining the Arkenstone. It was a bold move, and one he was risking his friendship with Thorin with. His badassness is defined not just with how proactive he became when the time needed it, but through his personal actions and how much he risked throughout his journey. Also, because I cannot help mentioning it, Galadriel because this was the first time we see her being incredibly powerful by sending Sauron away.
Character I'd like as my BFF: Bilbo or Tauriel
