HAPPY 2015!
Jan. 4th, 2015 07:42 am++ I hope everyone's New Years was nice and well. I mostly slept through it, only woke up to the sounds of fireworks. I also watched some of the Twilight Zone marathon that happens every New Years.
++ Saw BOTFA again for the third time in IMAX 3D, I didn't cry as much as the previous viewings, though it still breaks my heart.
++ I spent all of yesterday watching Carmilla, a webseries that is a modernized retelling of the 1871 novella by Sheridan Le Fanu. It is absolutely charming and delightful, the story is quite intriguing once things start get going, and overall I quite liked it. It's kind of a mashup between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lost Girl with a little dash of Welcome to Night Vale, in the sense of strange, paranormal things happening and sometimes just from the nonchalant retelling of the off-screen events can seem rather quirky. But it also doesn't negate from the serious and emotional parts, either. Laura, our main protagonist, is just adorable with her being tiny and brave and absolutely determined to do whatever is necessary to figure things out despite the odds, and Carmilla, a.k.a. the "useless lesbian vampire" as the fandom affectionately refers to her, is just a magnificent to watch as her story unfolds, it's both tragic and rewarding towards the end. And all the secondary to even minor characters featured are great, as well. Overall I can definitely see why it came so highly praised, I enjoyed it thoroughly and I definitely recommend it to anyone who may be interested, as well. Plus, it's getting a second season!

Date: 2015-01-04 07:31 pm (UTC)If you feel like, you should totally check out some of the interviews on youtube. There are a couple of Pillowtalks, and then there are the kaiseqs that Kaitlyn hosts (I'm watching the ones with Elise Bauman now, and they're just hilarious xD) I really like that it's a great series, and that the actors involved all seem like a fun bunch. :D)

Date: 2015-01-04 09:57 pm (UTC)It started out blahh but I am obsessed with it. The ethnic diversity needs a little work but Lola being Jewish (yes Judiasm is also an ethnicity) is a start X3. I am so excited for March when Next season comes on!

Date: 2015-01-05 12:40 am (UTC)Oh, it totally counts as a show. Just because it's not on television doesn't mean it shouldn't count as a show, imo.
