R.I.P. Robin Williams.

I knew he spoke quite openly about his long battle with manic depression and tried to raise awareness, so this is a sad reminder that it doesn't matter who you are, it's a very devastating and very real mental illness that suffocates and eats away at you from the inside.

I'm still in a state of shock and sadness. Robin was part of my childhood, he was a comedic genius, an improv master, and always managed to make me and my family laugh. It's hard digesting this kind of news, it seems unreal. I know he suffered greatly with this long, exhausting battle, but at least he's not suffering anymore. And the least we can do is honor his memory and celebrate the times he has made us smile and laugh. RIP Robin, you were definitely one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

I was shocked at his passing because I remember watching The Crazy Ones a few days ago.

He will always be Genie in my heart.

I'm really upset by this one. It just hits so hard. I wish that he'd have been able to stay but I hope he's at peace now.

I couldn't believe it when my Dad told me that Robin Williams was dead. It was kind of like my reaction to Elizabeth Sladen's death. "No, he isn't". At first I wasn't sure who Dad meant, since I knew Robin Williams the actor was alive.

Dad didn't want to tell Mom, but she found out by seeing the AOL home page. She cried a bit.

To be honest, I find it odd that anyone who was in What Dreams May Come would commit suicide.
