Okay, I'm like way confused. I'm not quite sure what's going on right now.
Apparently, Rainer is actually the Wanderer who used to be someone Trick knew long, long ago (and somehow who betrayed him) and he wrote him out of sight and mind and of history altogether and placed him in another dimension, and somehow Bo's trip to that train in the first place was so she could escape and come back to free him? And it seems that he is not her father after all? Oh, and she purposefully chose to become Dark and erase her memory (and all their memories) so this could be achieved? Wha? What and how and why and huh?
There are many things that aren't adding up. And maybe that's done on purpose?
Like, it's not explained how she even got off the train let alone got him off in the process. Or why she suddenly seems so calm when she returned, never mind that she held this dude's hand as if they were lost lovers and saying that he was her destiny. Something seems rather...off about that, in my opinion. Like she was brainwashed or being controlled in some way, perhaps by being imprinted by that mark. Our Bo doesn't believe in destiny or fate or anything like that, so there's definitely something going on with that unless we get a proper, more logical explanation in the next episode.
Aside from all that, the old Trick is quite frightening indeed. Seeing that part of him coming to the surface was awful, but it's one of the things I like about these characters. Trick stopped using his blood because of the consequences that it would have, which he is learning all comes back to haunt him in the future regardless. He wanted a fresh start, although he still has those skeletons in his closet. Tamsin herself used to be a different person back in her prime Valkyrie days, selfish and greedy, but she wanted a second chance (which apparently Trick granted her by extending her life span? for his own purposes?) and of course we see that she has been given that. I like seeing things like that where we see someone redeeming themselves from their past and trying to better themselves from who they once were. But now Tamsin is warning Kenzi to not trust Trick, and it makes me wonder if she is speaking from what happened from before or that she knows something else, that Trick might be holding other secrets back that may place them all in danger? It makes for some interesting tension, and of course with Rainer/the Wanderer/whoever that guy is that Bo came back with it will add more to what is going on and the history of what happened in the past.
Of course now with have that warning from the Leviathan that someone Bo loves will die. I'm worried about what this might mean, since I don't want anyone to die. D:
I did, however, like that we're getting more of the bond between Dyson and Lauren (non-drunk, lol) and they have the mutual agreement about their love for Bo. I also love that Bo doesn't necessarily have to choose, because she loves both of them regardless and it makes great to have a canonical poly relationship happening.
And that riddle game was sooo taken from The Hobbit. lol
And have I mentioned that I absolutely adore the Tamsin and Kenzi relationship? Like, last season the very thought of them having this close of a connection wouldn't even crossed anyone's minds, but Kenzi being a mother hen to Tamsin is the best thing and a blessing for this show to have. I seriously want to have more scenes of them together. I also want to see what shit they've been up to that we haven't seen yet. They're just too precious. ♥
Overall, this episode left me wondering what the hell is going on more than anything else, and I hope it will all make sense later.
