++ Looks like Desolation of Smaug is doing rather well in the box office, as expected of course. I honestly can't wait to see these films win all the awards, which won't happen until after the third movie comes out, just like with ROTK. I've only seen DOS twice now, and I plan on watching it at least five times in the theaters. So it'll be in IMAX 3D, and twice more in regular 2D. Can't stop, won't stop.

++ You can also vote for Desolation of Smaug for Favorite End of Year Movie for the People's Choice Awards. I have a feeling that Catching Fire might win, though. But it doesn't hurt to try regardless. You can vote as many times you want too, so.

++ So, apparently there's going to be a Lifetime movie of Flowers in the Attic, which can either be really great or really horrible depending on how it's done. Though judging from the looks of it, not only are they going to be including the incest storyline but they're also setting it in the correct era. I'm in the minority in that, despite the changes, I actually liked the 80s adaption simply because it had the right kind of haunting gothic atmosphere, which is how I envision most of V.C. Andrews stories (the earlier works, anyway, it's just the way she wrote them.) We'll just have to see how this newer adaptation does.

++ Pretty Little Liars returns on January 7th (spoilers included in preview). I'm so excited to see what will be down for the second half of the season.

Well I just borrowed The Hobbit so watch it this weekend because I am going to use my movie pass to go Desolation of Smaug next week.

Oh I wish I had cable so I could watch Flowers in the Attic. I also like the 80's remake. I remember reading the book when I was 6th grade and it just captivated me. My Mom had all the books and I just took them and read them. More then likely she probably won't have liked that I took read them or well what she don't know won't hurt her. lol

They're such good movies, and the second one has to be my favorite because so much happens and it's just really frakking awesome. :D

I feel like so many started reading VCA books around that same age. I read it in 7th grade and, like you, was captivated by not just the story but the way it was written. I was obsessed with reading more of her books at that time. I remember that I did a book report on My Sweet Audrina in high school (and I think my teacher was perplexed by what the hell I was reading, lol).

It's Lifetime, you know Flowers is going to be hilariously ridiculously cheesy. They do sound like they're sticking closely to the book though, which I liked. I didn't mind the original movie either. "Eat the cookie Mother!" Even though I don't live in the US, I am definitely going to find some way to watch it. I checked Lifetime's and I think I can watch it from there.

Yeah, even though some have said that sometimes Lifetime doesn't make everything into an overly melodramatic cheese factory, I'm mentally preparing myself for such a disaster to happen. I'm just hoping that they don't completely downplay the dark and disturbing factors of the story. Because that's one of my favorite aspect of the series is how dark and depressing and utterly twisted things are.

I saw the preview for Flowers in the Attic. I don't know if I ever finished the book but I'll be tuning into the movie to see how they do with it. Like you said, it could go either way.

It actually makes me wonder, if this does well and does the story justice (which is a big if), could they do the entire Dollanganger series? I know FITA is the most popular one to adapt, but it would be pretty neat if they could continue to saga in a televised movie series or miniseries or something.

...Or maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. Heh.
