Wow! I did miss the new promo for ep07. That is very intriguing. I've been trying to be patient for it but what's this revelation about Dean and what occurred in Purgatory? I'm dying here. I'm also relieved to see him in ep08. The flashbacks were interesting but so very sparse. They had been so stingy with the angel bits. It's a bit infuriating.

I'm curious about that, too. I know from interviews it was said that things in Purgatory aren't what they appeared to be, and there might be a mixture of personal perception and manipulation going on with what events actually happened there. This raises some interesting questions on the mystery of what is real and what isn't.

*sigh* I miss the early days when it was about urban legends and not just any kind of weirdness they could shoehorn in.

Yeah, the show kind of abandoned that after the first two seasons. It kind of went back to it when they introduced the angels and brought in the bigger mytharc in the fourth season, but the show has never remained consistent on what kind of atmosphere this universe should be. Some things they used to take seriously they don't anymore.

In any case, I do suspect that this episode will be like "Changing Channels", in that the concept appears to be ridiculous but there is something else underneath it all that relates to the bigger issues they are dealing with. I know from spoilers that 8.07 and 8.08 will be big with what is happening re: Castiel.

I'm kind of looking forward 8.08, if only because I'm hoping it's a trickster episode.

Since it's been months now, I've kind of distanced myself from the show. Obviously I know what's going on and how things have gone down over the season (thanks to Tumblr), but I'm just not that interested in it anymore? Which perhaps is a good thing, since I was kind of not in a good place (mentally/emotionally) when I was still part of the fandom even from the sidelines, despite my fierce love for Castiel.

Which I still have, of course. That will never change. :)

But as a whole, I've kind of put SPN behind me.
