++ Remember that blasphemous Buffy reboot movie that enraged so many of us fans? Well, as it turns out the writer was fired and the project is being halted, hopefully for good. I, for one, am utterly relieved by this because aside from the entire cast and Whedon himself voicing their displeasure of such a project being made, never mind the entire fanbase being angry at this decision in the first place, the writer apparently wanted to reinvent the lore completely. This is practically an insult to the character that Joss created, the world he created, and seriously why would you even think about reinventing something that already has a richness? I am so happy they rejected the script and fired her, and hopefully this reboot never ever sees the light of day.

++ PLEASE TELL ME THIS MEANS WHAT I THINK IT MEANS. :O While I'm no longer watching the show, they better do this right or else. Just saying.

++ I'm really psyched about Awake, and I want to get the word out as much as possible. For those who don't know, it's the new NBC series that will be premiering mid-season (it took a break from filming briefly to rework the creative process) and it stars Jason Isaacs, and the entire premise is so complex and interesting and because this will be on NBC, and networks in the U.S. are incredibly nitpicky about ratings and making the big bucks, and like most things that are innovative and thought-provoking it might get overlooked and pushed aside. I don't want that to happen. It isn't airing yet so I hope that people will start looking into what the show is about and get psyched up about it and tell other people to do the same, because television needs to start getting some diversity in their programs and adding something different and complicated, yet fascinatingly good, like the concept of Awake, is definitely a start.

I highly recommend watching the Comic Con panel for Awake with the creators and Jason Isaacs giving further insight on what you can expect from the show. Some amazing ideas are being produced so I hope it does well.

(Also as a sidenote, notice how delightfully adorable and charming Jason is, I mean he always is but this being his first convention ever he was pleasantly surprised by how intelligent the audience was with asking their questions regarding the show, better than some interviewers he's encountered! ♥)

I still don't understand why they even want to remake/reboot BTVS in the first place, the entire idea was bad from the start and I'm just very happy that they rejected the script. It makes me wonder how bad it really was.

I'm very meh about this whole thing because, three episodes? Really? Demoting him from being a series regular to only reappearing in three episodes (and not guaranteeing he'll even play Cas in the first place.....) It's kind of insulting. As much as I love Misha, I don't want him to return if they are just going to milk his appearance just to gain viewers of they aren't even going to bother with properly concluding Castiel's arc. He deserves better than that, tbh.

Considering it was already getting bad reception anyway because of it being a so-called "reboot" of a still relevant series, I'm surprised it wasn't rejected sooner. Like, when it was announced.

I'm still cackling at the interview the writer did a while ago, saying that fans wanted a movie to be made. SO MUCH LULZ AT THAT!

I know! The 'reboot' was just a bad idea all the way around. That would be like the Hobbit (which I'm really looking forward to) without hobbits or Peter Jackson.

Well, I'm sure they could've made The Hobbit without Peter Jackson, but it would be as if someone took the story and completely revised it from the original works. Like, completely ignored the entire story and reinvented the origin or something like that. Now that would have been offensive and a complete disservice to Tolkien's world.

Oh I know. That why I'm so glad Jackson is involved- he really seems to love source material.

I normally watch SPN with my best friend, but for the episodes involving Misha, I'll be watching them alone, curled up in front of my laptop, with booze and a towel to cry into, because I just know that the show's going to get our hopes up and then tears our hearts out again. I want Castiel back so much it physically pains me, but I'm terrified the writers are somehow going to find an even worse way for his story to end... which should be impossible, but, well, everything else about him got screwed up, so. -_-

/bitter

That being said... the way his arc currently ended is a piece of crap, so maybe him coming back can fix things. Just. Gah. This damn show.

OMG I KNOW I HATE THAT! >:O FUCK LIVEJOURNAL AND HOW THEY FUCKED EVERYTHING UP. AND THE JOURNAL ENTRIES. IT'S ALL SHIT NOW. :| And they probably won't change it back, despite saying they they are "considering" our concerns and feedback about the abrupt changes they made out of the blue. Like, fuck you too assholes.

I am seriously thinking of switching over to DreamWidth, if I can figure out how to transfer all my entries from here over to there.....

Same here.

And the question is whether Castiel truly comes back in 7.17 or if it's just Misha playing another role. Again, the psych the fans up for his reappearance but never really properly conclude Castiel's arc. I wouldn't put it past Gamble to pull something like that, milk it for all it's worth and then go, "well you wanted Misha back, I got him back! What are you complaining about!" It makes me rage at her attitude towards Misha/Castiel and the fans that support him, and she's willing to give any excuse. :/

I, for one, will not be watching. I can only hope that they do everything justice and if not, fuck them.

Even Misha coming back is not enough to make me start watching the show again. If killing off Cas hadn't done it, killing off Bobby would have. Fuck this. Sam and Dean need Bobby and they need Cas.

Also, Awake is going to be amazing. Why can't they put it on the schedule already? Want. Now. This year is going to be all about Avengers, The Hobbit, Awake, and Game of Thrones season 2, and none of them are here yet. The wait is killing me.

I'm very nervous because I don't know how they're going to promote it, and as we all know things that are under-advertised don't get enough attention. So I'm hoping that NBC promotes the hell out of it before it premieres (whenever that will be) because this needs to be viewed.

ITA, this year for media is looking pretty amazing. :D

I agree. It's absolutely ridiculous on how they have stripped everything away from the brothers just so they can go "back to the basics" as people are saying, as in going back to the S1 formula of "saving people, hunting things" without those "expendable" third wheels like Castiel getting in the way. -___- Really, reading those comments and arguments from the other side of fandom just gives me a headache.

I really don't understand why they did this, and if they think bringing Misha back for only three episodes is going to do the trick on gaining back the audience they pissed off they are dead wrong.
