Divine: The Series, Episode 1: "Divine"



Such an intriguing start. Begins with a rush of a young girl asking for the elderly priest, carrying what we assume to be her friend or familiar acquaintance who seems to be injured really badly, and another priest, Father Christopher (Misha Collins) caught in the middle of something disturbing and miraculous at the same time. He seems to be unaware of what is happening, but the elderly priest certainly knows. The ending shows the wounded man, now healed, in a room in the middle of flagellating himself. The walls in front of him are bloody with marks, which he has apparently been marking the times he has done this.

I have to say, this was definitely something to pull someone in. Obviously for many of us it's because of Misha, but I'm definitely tuned in because I want to know what the hell is going on. I am forever fascinated with anything of this kind of stuff (the healing reminded me of Heroes a bit, I just kept thinking of Claire or Peter and wondering if they appeared in this and it would have been a totally different story....but my mind goes to those multifandom places so heh.....)

Also, can I just say that this DOES NOT HELP my insane priest!kink? I mean just, hnnnnggggg. Can't wait for the crossover gifs/vids to happen, because Dean/priest!Castiel? a;skflasjfd;jas;fjas;kf;lasfd

Plus. Nudity. And profanity. And Misha in a priest outfit, and tiny spunky Asian girl. So far, I approve.

There's a part of me that went lulz why did they leave him naked on the altar overnight? I'm easily amused. But aside from that moment, it's actually quite a good and intriguing start. I definitely want to see more of it and how it'll go, not just because of Misha only but because this, the supernatural and religion, of things unexplained.

But yeah, this series looks to be very interesting. I know that Misha said his role in this isn't very big, however regardless this has gotten me interested on what exactly is happening, why and how things will pan out in the end.

I thought the Asian girl was kind of a painfully bad actor, but it was definitely intriguing! I'm interested in seeing the rest so it can start to make sense.

Amen to that! I hate to say it, but I hope the bad guys kill her soon because she's such a bad actress that she pulls me out of the scene every time she speaks/reacts. Other than that, I thought it was pretty good. I am looking forward to more, but without the girl.

I thought the actress was alright, tbh. Not great, but we haven't seen much of her to really judge just yet. *shrugs* It was just the first episode anyway, so we'll see how it all goes and whether she grows on us or not.

I love the look and style of the series, and there are plenty of questions I have about what is going on. I also like that Misha's character, Father Christopher, is basically the voice of the audience. He also doesn't know what's going on so we'll be learning as he is. So far, me likey a lot. :D :D :D

I'm hooked!!! I love shit like this :D I would watch even without Misha, but it doesn't hurt that he is in it, LOL! I wanted it to be longer. Ten mintutes, really? I can't wait for the next part. When do we get it? I should go back to the site and find out.

To be honest, I didn't think the episode was going to be that long. Usually webseries have 3-5 minute episodes, sometimes longer if they can, but judging from how much they filmed 10-12 minutes sounds about right. It's interesting how I've seen opinions range about how short it seemed. Perhaps I'm more familiar with webseries than others are? idk

Webseries are usually a weekly thing, so I'm thinking every Sunday? Unless they're doing something different.

Is ceaser the "Divine?" That's the only thing that got me confused.

Seems to be, but I don't know. I guess we'll find out!

Is it bad that I'm legit excited about this more than SPN? Ah, who am I fooling, of course it isn't bad! I would prefer Misha being in something that actually respects him as an actor than a show that clearly doesn't.

Eh, imo you don't have to be remotely religious to enough something with religious aspects, you can just enjoy the mystery and storytelling of whatever is happening. Of course this may be just me, since I'm utterly fascinated by this kind of stuff regardless. But hey, whatever floats one's boat and all that.

There's nothing wrong with just watching for Misha. I think the majority of fandom is doing that regardless (not just him appearing in it, but being involved with the production of the project so it's more like supporting him in that sense) ;)

It looks promising, there's definite potential and I can't wait to see what comes of it. Surely nothing really revolutionary happened but the mystery, the questions, is keeping me intrigued on where this is all leading too.

Plus, Misha as a priest. How can you not love that? ;)

I like how Misha is the audience surrogate. He doesn't know WTF is happening. We don't know WTF is happening. It's excellent.

THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT TOO! Misha is a representation of the audience, he's thrust in the middle of whatever is going on and hasn't got a clue, and we're gonna learn when he does on whatever is truly happening. I love that.

Actually I watched it only cause Misha is in it ! :D

I watched the trailer a few weeks back and thought 'Hey that's looks really promising'. So, yepp, I watched it ... and was highly confused. xDDD But like Misha's character we're going to learn probably more in the following episodes. But actually I kinda liked it, that the audience was 'thrown' into the action right away. ^__^

I didn't know that it was a webseries, so I was highly surprised that it was only about 10 minutes long.

Oh, and Misha looks gooood. <3

But I wandered why the hell the guys was suddenly naked. Oo And who was punishing him at the end. >_> The old priest? :OOOO

I think a lot of people were expecting something revolutionary, but it's only the first episode and this is a webseries, it's not going to have all the answers straight away. But hey, it least it has grabbed most of our attention. Either from the atmosphere or just Misha in a priest outfit. ;)
