01. I feel that sometimes fandom, and even the show itself at times, underestimates Castiel's badassery, to a point where I want to smack them upside the head with the Casifesto so they can reeducate themselves on his character.

02a. Honestly, I'm disappointed that we didn't learn anything about Mary's side of the family, other than they're just a bunch of assholes. I'm intrigued with the family bloodline of hunters in general and when we learned about Mary being from a family a hunters I wanted to know more about that side, their history, how far back their hunter line went, etc. Unfortunately that storyline went nowhere and they amounted to nothing in the sixth season, only leaving the impression that they were all pessimistic assholes, like most hunters turn out to be. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why Mary wanted to leave that life for good, but I guess we'll never know.

02b. Additionally, I would love to see John's side of the family. We know that John has the bloodline for angelical intervention, so I would like at least have more information about that. Although I don't think we ever will, it's just something worth to explore more since it is Winchester-related. Moreover, can we have JDM and Matt Cohen back? Seriously.

03. I MISS LUCIFER. I MISS MARKSHAAAA. :(

04. Good Omens: Mark Sheppard is Crowley no matter what, but who would be Aziraphale? Misha Collins or Sebastian Roche? Discuss.

so very very unlikely but wouldn't it be awesome? and not just because double the winchester, double the fun, but also because the pure awesome of both jdm & cohen as actors and people would absolutely blow my mind.

and aziraphale? all that comes to mind is a weird mix-up of both misha and sebastian roche. mostly because he's not quite like cas, but also really not quite like balthazar, either. but honestly, i'd have to go with misha, because the idea of misha as a quietly-sexy-librarian, just ... ngh. AND GLASSES. ONE MUST NOT FORGET THE GLASSES.

Y! PERHAPS BOTH FEATURED IN A HALLUCINATION/DREAM SEQUENCE OR SOMETHING? IF ANYTHING THAT WOULD BE THE MOST PROBABLE SOLUTION OF HAVING THEM BOTH TOGETHER IN THE SAME EPISODE. POSSIBLY IN THE SAME SCENE. :D

Unlikely as it were ever to happen, it would be pretty damn awesome.

The prospect of Misha being a librarian and wearing glasses? *__* Yeah, plus Misha did mimic Sebastian by speaking in a British accent so, accents are clearly something he can do. It would be perfect! ;D

I agree with all of these so much. Cas may be naive about humanity at times, but he is also an epic BAMF. I can't read anything but top!Cas, and I hate it when people ignore the badass parts of his personality. I love possessive!Cas fics because those authors are good about showing why you should not mess with Castiel.

I especially hate the fics where they have Castiel being childishly stupid about everything. There's a difference with being naive about certain aspects of humanity and being dumb about things, you know. Castiel isn't innocent or gentle; he may be considered as such when compared to the rest of the angels in Heaven, but he's still an angel. A powerful one, and while quiet he is he can still put you in your place.

As much as I adore Mark Sheppard's Crowley (and it's a lot), he isn't my Good Omens!Crowley.

... As a matter of fact, I have no idea who could be. Or Aziraphale. It's just, I can sort of imagine what they look like when I'm reading it but so far I haven't run into any actors who'd fit those mental images of mine. Sure, there are some who come close but still, not exactly.
Like, if Paul Bettany wasn't so skinny or sort of "tough," he'd have the same qualities my mental Aziraphale has. (Like blond hair..) but IDK.

:( Usually I can rather easily decide who I'd put to play this or that character but nooo, when it comes to Azi and Crowley, I just can't decide. /problems

ps. oh and yes to learning more about papachester's and mamachester's sides of the family. and lucifer, i really miss that guy.

Definitely someone tall with dark hair and good cheekbones ;) and preferably a little skinny, perhaps. I've thought about it a lot but I still have no idea. Everyone else's suggestions just always miss that something that would make actor x or actor y a good choice for my headcanon!Crowley.

Aziraphale isn't that much easier, average build- so not skinny but not fat either just average, blond hair, bookish appearance with the cardigans and sweaters and tweed, perhaps a pair of glasses. Perhaps not as tall as Crowley or maybe equal height.

Linnpuzzle @ deviantart draws Crowley and Aziraphale the best imo.

Honestly I'm just reading the book (have meant to for a while, just never got around to it) and all I can think about whenever I am reading Crowley and Aziraphale's bits is seeing Crowley and Castiel from the show and it just won't go away. That's immediately how I see them. But heh, I guess for those who have been fans of the book for a while now it can be hard to cast the right person. Sometimes there is no right person other than the one that your mind conjures up.

Yeah, I've been a fan of Good Omens far longer than I've been a fan of Supernatural, so GO kinda came first and since I already have a pretty solid headcanon on how they look, it's like there's no one who fits it. :(

I love BAMF! Cas :D I love it when he gets to remind people that he IS an Angel. Ass kicking is part of his being. I hope we get to keep him as an angel or a practically human version, I really don't want Godstiel for the whole season. :(

I wish Castiel would remind people more often, since he's also underestimated within the show itself by other characters, esp the Winchesters. Remember back when Castiel threatened Dean about sending him back into Hell? I know that threat now wouldn't be used or meant in the same way because Castiel loves Dean and would never inflict that kind of memories about Hell onto him, but it's something like that. Like how he beat Dean up in the alleyway, reminding him who has the upper hand here. I wished S6 had something to that effect, because the Winchesters were being such assholes to him. But I figure Cas was too burnt out with what he was dealing with he didn't want to prove anything to Sam or Dean other than just keeping them safe.

Okay, getting ahead of myself with writing a super-long comment. But yeah, I do agree with you. I want our Castiel back. :(

I wonder if JDM is too expensive to have back on the show....

I highly suggest reading Good Omens! It's good and I betcha that you'll do what I'm doing, picturing Crowley and Aziraphale as Crowley and Castiel from the show! lol

For all the big deal the spoilers made of the Campbells being a legendary hunting family, we didn't really see much awesome from them, and they turned out to be evil/possessed/clueless. You'd think that if you were going to add/rewrite what we knew of the two main characters' family, that there would be a POINT to it.

Exactly, I was wanting more information from what we already knew from before, only that we got nothing more than just them being unlikeable assholes and being clueless about a lot of things. And what did they amount to? How exactly did they help things in the long-run? It was all pretty pointless, and mostly just to justify the soulless!Sam storyline which, in the end, was also kind of pointless.

They could have done soulless Sam without the Campbells. I actually think it's more IC for soulless Sam to hunt alone, because that way he doens't have to pretend with anyone.

They could have also had Dean being by himself when he tried to get away from hunting after everything, instead of playing house with total strangers. I mean, thinking about it, it would have been a fantastic parallel between the brothers in a sense. Both by themselves, one is soulless and hunting and the other is trying to find himself by attempting to live a normal life, but something is missing and when they meet up again (coincidentally) it's about piecing together that puzzle.

I mean for goodness sakes, that would have been so much better and actually would have made sense for their character developments, you know?

You know what, I had this weird thought the other day. If they were going to go there with domestic Dean, it would have made SO much more sense for him to be by himself in 5x22, and then be living with someone when S6 started. That would be a heck of a change. And I'm sure fandom would have hated the new girl, no doubt, don't get me wrong. But at least it would have made SENSE. That was my hugest gripe with the Lisa thing. The way they inserted her out of the blue, and had Dean living with her out of the blue. With someone new, we would be discovering a new relationship, getting possible hints about how he ended up with her, not having him show up on her doorstep with a declaration of dream love.

I wished the whole "hunters are pessimistic douchebags" stereotype in general would just be broken on this show. I understand that the hunting life is rather difficult and can take a toll on someone, but it doesn't always have to be like that and they don't always have to be assholes to other people.

So much potential and opportunities, it makes me sad and angry that they continue to be narrow-minded by not exploring these potential places of the world they created.

2 so fucking hard man! When I first saw Grandpa Campbell, I was excited for not just for Dean's sake but also for the chance for him to have another strong male figure in his life.

Needless to say, I was VERY disappointed with where they went. If they writers/producers weren't so obsessed with having Dean and Sam as the only blood family, things could have been really interesting instead of disappointing.

I wish some people understood that. Naivety doesn't equal being stupid or incompetent. I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in his stoic woobifying that some forget his stronger assets to his character, like being a badass and resourceful when he needs to be, being very protective of the Winchesters, etc. I love Castiel and think he's adorable too, but I don't forget that he could easily smite me in a blink of an eye if he wanted to.

Exactly. There are so many opportunities and untold stories featuring other characters, and yet the show is so narrow-minded in thinking that this is solely all about Sam and Dean. Yes, the main story surrounds them, however that doesn't mean they should neglect and forget everything else around them. That is just sloppy writing and construction and it shows that they really don't understand how storytelling works. I mean, was Harry Potter only about Harry Potter? No, it wasn't. Was Buffy the Vampire Slayer only about Buffy and her calling as a Slayer? Absolutely not. In fact, the latter was very specific that while the calling of a Slayer meant being without friends, without family, without the influences of the outside world except for her training as a Slayer, the show broke those boundaries and rules in showing that the Slayer could have friends, family and a life outside of her destiny.

Why can't the same happen with Sam and Dean? Why can't the show try to expand itself like it did in S4 with introducing a new element and sticking with it, going further in the mythology and storylines of other parts of their universe?

This gives more proof that they hardly go more in-depth and explore further with the things they've introduced into the mythology of the show, not just with the angel stuff but also with things Winchester-related as well! Sloppiness, is what I think of that.

It's plain laziness as well. Writing the Campbells in but don't use them to the fullest and getting rid of them hurriedly when they no longer fit or don't know what to do with them.

I have a feeling they thought they had a point, but it got lost in translation so they just decided to kill them all off. Or perhaps they thought that it would be a distraction from what was really going on "behind the scenes" with Castiel and Crowley, however that also got lost in translation towards the end anyway. I think it's just sloppiness, and it really shows.

I too wish they'd done something more with the Campbells. Something awesome, because I liked them a lot in 4.03. But It would be cool to see John's family too... Or just more John. I don't like him per se, but I think he's an awesome character. Plus JDM and Matt. :D

It's hard to choose an Aziraphale! though he doesn't really look like I imagined, Mark Sheppard is so my Crowley now.
