THE BORGIAS!
Mar. 28th, 2011 09:44 amJUST FINISHED WATCHING THE LEAKED PILOT AND HOLY SHIT NEW FANDOM OBSESSION!
There's much that I loved about this pilot, I mean from how Jeremy Irons can still get it even while playing a corrupting Pope and committing many sins and totally not helping my priest!kink at all (not that I mind of course), to how utterly gorgeous the look and feel the show is based around, along with how utterly haunting the opening credits sequence is which is totally perfect, to just how engaging the pilot was altogether that the only complaint I have is that I don't have the next episode available to me yet.
However, if there's one thing that I absolutely fell in love with while watching is my new OTP:
Cesare/Lucrezia

YES, THEY ARE BROTHER AND SISTER BUT IDGAF BECAUSE LOOK AT HOW ADORABLE THEY ARE TOGETHER! Seriously, they are absolutely shameless with the incestuous vibes between them (and by shameless I mean shameless, they practically have already announced their undying love for one another in every single scene they are in together, you just want them to start making out already!) Lucrezia is so adorable and precious, and Cesare is all adoring and protective of his sister, calling her "my love" with innocent nose-brushing and just, as;fjdaksfldakfds!!! MY SHIPPER HEART GO A-SQUEEE! ♥ ♥ ♥ I mean, I was drawn into the show because of Jeremy Irons (duh) but dammit, these two have stolen my heart. There's also some homoeroticism subtext, as well. Incest and slash vibes, along with sex, violence, nudity, sin after sin after sin, you know, all that good stuff. ^_^
The Borgias officially premieres April 3rd on Showtime, but I highly recommend downloading and previewing the pilot beforehand just to take a glimpse at how awesome this show is. If you liked The Tudors I definitely suggest watching this, it's really good. Plus with the slash, the incest, the violence and murder, there's just blasphemy everywhere up in this show. What's not to love about that?

Date: 2011-03-30 08:01 am (UTC)I've always had something for incestuous relationships in fiction, which it all started with V.C. Andrews novels that damned me forever in that department. For which I have absolutely no shame whatsoever. Hee.
If you need a download link, here's one (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VSTBI06I). It does premiere this week (April 3rd) though idk how many people have Showtime.

Date: 2011-03-30 08:05 am (UTC)SO EXCITED TO WATCH AND SHIP THIS ADORABLENESS.
Seriously, though, incestuous relationships are quite fascinating. I think it started with V.C. Andrews for me too. I mean, Chris and Cathy are so screwed up but so... compelling. Also, I'm a huge history buff and there are so many compelling relationships between sisters and brothers (or brothers or sisters, for that matter).

Date: 2011-03-30 08:42 am (UTC)Oh definitely, and ITA that there are incestuous pairings out there that are just so compelling. I find myself being drawn to them. It's the taboo that I find so fascinating, and if that makes me weird? So be it, lol. Chris/Cathy was my first downfall, and it kept going from there. Cesare/Lucrezia in The Borgias are my new recent obsession, and once you watch the pilot you'll be just as addicted to them. Guaranteed. :)

Date: 2011-03-30 09:07 am (UTC)Have you watched Rome? It has a brief, strange incestuous relationship between two characters that was, I think, the first time I ever saw canon incestuous sex on TV. Maybe. Caligula and Drusilla in I, Claudius hardly count.

Date: 2011-03-30 09:18 am (UTC)I've seen little bits and pieces from Rome (once accidentally at my younger cousins house while flipping through channels looking for something to watch...and there was a graphic sex scene happening and I'm like, thanks, way to make everything in the room become so uncomfortable! lol) but I'll admit to not getting into the show. Heh.
Well, there was the incest scene from the Mists of Avalon miniseries shown on TNT a while back, but otherwise that's just about it as far as I can remember....
