Day 9 - Your favorite Dean death scene
When he got shot in the very beginning of "Dark Side of the Moon", and it's simply because it's such a Dean Winchester way of going out. From when the other hunters shot and killed his brother, he goes from shock to pure anger within seconds and has this attitude of "if you're gonna kill him then kill me too you fucking bastards!" It's the way that his glare holds so much threatening promise that makes me go, of course Dean would go out like this.
Day 10 - Your favorite Sam/other death scene
I think my other favorite death scene has to be Ellen and Jo Harvelle's death. Not because I loved it, because I didn't. I was sad that they were both killed off after just bringing them back, but it's more about the way they handled their death scene. It was incredibly touching and the fact that they spent time focusing on the emotional impact of their deaths by drawing it out made me realize they were paying respect to these two fierce women. Jo making a self-sacrificing decision that matured her far greater than anyone ever imagine, even winning the respects from those didn't like her that much from before, right to having Ellen stay with her daughter and going out in pure HBIC-style.
It's devastating that they killed off the last two awesome females on the entire show as they did, but I really liked how it happened. It stayed true to their characters by letting them go out, with Ellen and Jo being together, their differences and quarrels pushed aside and forgotten, mother and daughter up until the very end.
R.I.P. Ellen and Joanna Beth Harvelle. ♥
Rest of the 30 Days of Supernatural Challenge.
I see that Jim Beaver is coming to LACon next month. It looks like he and Creation finally reached a civil agreement about him participating again, since he said he was displeased with Creation's operations and wasn't going to be attending one of their events again. I'm definitely going to be getting his autograph this time, for sure.

Date: 2011-01-23 11:46 pm (UTC)LACon... I wish I could go this year. I just randomly checked who was going and saw that Matt Cohen and Aldis Hodge were going to be there. :( I wish I had seen that sooner instead of making a plan for another trip with my friend. *sigh*

Date: 2011-01-24 12:11 am (UTC)Saturday has the biggest list of guests for the entire weekend, it seems as of right now. Misha, Aldis, Traci, Mark Sheppard, Jim Beaver. Hell yeah, I'm there. Which of course I'm only going for Saturday anyway but, with that list it'll be more than worthwhile I think. ;)

Date: 2011-01-24 12:24 am (UTC)That would be a good plan to just attend one day. Gosh, I wish I lived in California. That group of people... goodness. It will definitely be worthwhile.

Date: 2011-01-24 12:39 am (UTC)I was planning on going to the San Francisco con since it's just several hours out from where I live, it was way to close to the scheduling for LACon this year. Also Misha wasn't there, so what's the point in going? ;p

Date: 2011-01-24 12:56 am (UTC)Oh... what is the use of going to Convention if Misha isn't there? Like, seriously. I just want to see Matt Cohen.

Date: 2011-01-24 02:11 am (UTC)I agree with you on Ellen and Jo's death scene. I was like "WTF?!"
And Dean? Yeah, so him.

Date: 2011-01-24 09:02 am (UTC)Yeah, and honestly, why bring the Harvelle women back just to kill them off? I understand that in war people die and it would have been better had they been featured more on the show to have that emotional impact, but the fact that they hadn't been seen since the second season makes no sense. :/

Date: 2011-01-24 12:28 pm (UTC)Ellen and Jo's deaths were fantastically done. No matter how much I hated the fact that I had just started to like Jo and Ellen has always been one of my favourites, it was a very hunter-ish way to go, not to mention it was stopping and touching. Like you mentioned, pushing their differences and quarrels to the side and all, only remaining as a mother and a daughter, dying for the ~world.
One of my favourite scenes, no matter how sad it was. (and it was sad, damn!) also: HELLHOUNDS. :D :D I love hellhounds. They're so creepy.
Jim Beaver ♥

ITA. The Hellhounds are perhaps the bestest supernatural creatures we'll never see, and I prefer it that way. ;)

What a great way to put it. Although I could have done without the writers bringing them back to (seemingly) just kill them off, but than this show has always had problems with it's female characters to say the least.
'I'm definitely going to be getting his autograph this time, for sure.'
Good luck and hope you have fun.

Date: 2011-01-24 05:05 pm (UTC)Yeah, that's an unfortunate case with this show. I like to think that they handled Jo and Ellen's death more respectfully than any of the other female characters' death on the show, which isn't saying much considering how they treat women on this show anyway. But at least they got more focus than just "whoops they're dead" like they usually do.

Date: 2011-01-24 06:06 pm (UTC)Ellen and Jo didn't bother me at all when I watched it, but I find it really upsetting to think about now (I blame the Rabbit-Hearted Girl vid for this) and I can't stand to rewatch the episode. One of the surest ways to reduce me to a quivering heap is parent-child grief, and the way Ellen loses it when Jo dies...*wibbles* But really, if they had to go, I'm glad they at least went out fighting and the show made sure the audience really felt it.
