Discard the post I made earlier, I was in a mood and kind of bitchy. Long story short: people can be such assholes online, but I'm over it.
But exciting (to me anyway) news, TRICIA AND KATEE REPLIED TO MY COMMENT I WROTE TO THEM ON THEIR LIVE U-STREAM TONIGHT!!
It starts around 40:00min where Tricia reads my comment, which I wrote: "I've always wanted to ride motorcycles but some peopled laughed at me because I'm tiny and girlie and that they're too 'rough' for me. You two are truly role models, love you!" (I had to write it out twice, the chat board goes by so fast so that's why they have trouble reading all the comments), and this spawned them in giving a very nice speech about women being able to do whatever they wanted that makes them happy despite all the stereotypes. Which is what makes me love them even more. ♥
And what I wrote is absolutely true, I wasn't just writing it out so they could comment on it. For the longest time I've always had been interested in wanting to ride motorcycles but kind of got some flack from others who scoffed at me for thinking I could. I mean not maliciously, but rather as a side-comment like "yeah sure you could" kind of way. I know that women ride motorcycles, but because I'm small and tiny and definitely very girlie I got the impression that I would be laughed at. I don't know much about bikes in general but I would love to learn, I would love to test it out and see if it's something I would like doing or not, you know?
So thank you Tricia and Katee, you are true role models and inspirations and I love you even more than I have before. ♥ ♥ ♥

Date: 2010-10-29 06:10 am (UTC)At first I was nervous even signing up for the chat, because I'm like, what could I possibly say? I've never done chat boards before so I had no idea how it all worked but kind of understood how they were doing it. So I just ended up writing that because what they were talking about kind of spoke to me. And whatd'ya know, they responded! :D
But come on, you got to meet these ladies IN PERSON. So I'm more jealous of you because of that. ;p

Date: 2010-10-29 06:47 am (UTC)Personally, I'd be too scared to sit on a motorcycle so I would never ever ride one lol.

Date: 2010-10-29 06:54 am (UTC)I myself do not have any interest in learning how to ride a motorcycle. I'm interested in being a passenger in it at least once though, so if you ever learn to ride one and buy one, give me a call and I'll ride with you.

Date: 2010-10-29 08:07 am (UTC)Their responding and their reply to your comment is just awesome.
Go and ride a bike, bb.

Date: 2010-10-29 08:14 am (UTC)And I loved the comments Katee mentioned about us just being women, how we get emotional about everything but we're still strong and can do whatever we want. Because it's so true and I applaud both of these lovely ladies in commenting on this issue.
I'm definitely going be considering taking lessons on motorbiking in the near future. It's on my queue list along with snowboarding and going to a shooting range. ;D

Date: 2010-10-29 01:40 pm (UTC)What time is tonight's? I'm Eastern, so they've been saying it's on at 8:30 Pacific?

Date: 2010-10-29 02:10 pm (UTC)And don't let the stereotypes stop you from trying things. I know you agree with that but it's definitely hard when other people don't believe in you and you don't know where to start. But you can do it, girl.
OT but I actually saw a dream last night where I rented a motorbike but then I kept crashing with it. THIS WOULD ALSO HAPPEN TO ME IN REALITY.
I wish I could join the chat too but apparently it's around 6:30AM my time.

Date: 2010-10-29 02:12 pm (UTC)I'm not entirely sure. They've been going on at least around 7:00pm Pacific (started at 7:30 last night). I would check @actingoutlaws on Twitter because it usually updates with things about their ride along with what time they're gonna be on.

Date: 2010-10-30 01:28 am (UTC)I love how responsive they are to the fans. I know they can't reply to every single one because the chat moves by so fast, but I love it when they do, whether it's shoutouts or hilarious comments or even questions. The fact that such a mechanism exists to communicate with them on this level is such an amazing thing (even if Ustream can be evil and freeze the recording of it at times).

Date: 2010-10-30 01:45 am (UTC)It's definitely hard when stereotypes and generalizations happen and I know I have certain anxieties so getting out and going against the mold is kind of difficult, but I definitely think Tricia and Katee and other women who are breaking such stereotypes are such good role models. I mean, looking at these videos I have fallen in love with what they're advocating and promoting and that these actresses in such a pretentious business are just so normal like us. It's not just for the cause they're doing for the awareness of the environment but also a great message they're presenting for women everwhere.
AND YES I AM GUSHING I CANNOT HELP IT I ADORE THEM. ♥ ♥ ♥
Totally am gonna try out these things though, bb. ;) And not just testing out motorcycles, I'm going to be learning to snowboard sometime soon (we have to set a date, already bought the proper gear so, yay). \O/
